New Country at Epcot?!?!?

i think Peru would be a good addition. Hear me out...it would be forest themed with a Machu Piccho replica. The Andes mountains would look sweet. gift shops would have things like authentic walking sticks, copper dishes, leather sculptures with peruvian drawings among other things. The cuisine would be a good fit too. Things that have Empanadas de Carne (Beef Empanadas), Anticuchos de Pollo, among many others...now ive never been to peru, but i feel a south american country would have a good spot there...brazil would be too obvious, maybe argentina would work too...but a ride where you escape ancient warriors out of the creepy site that is machu picchu would be sweet!

I think Peru would be a perfect addition, even if it's not necessarily the first country most people think of.

As you noted, it has Machu Picchu, which is one of the most well-known locations in South America. The country also has one of the most diverse geographies in the continent, ranging from mountains to rain forests to arid areas. The architecture ranges from indigenous buildings to the colonial structures of Lima.

And Peruvian cuisine is both diverse and offers something for everyone -- it has native, Asian, African, and European influences, and most of it, however exotic sounding, includes things that the average theme park visitor would be willing to try.

I think unkadug was saying that the USA was sandwiched between Axis powers on both sides, not that the USA was an Axis power, since the USA was obviously an Allied power.

I hope the insinuation isn't that they are building a giant carousel in World Showcase because that would be disgusting.

Yes a giant carousel would be disgusting and out of place....a moderate sized (edit: ferris wheel) done tastefully accurate would be kind of a neat time killer and a nice way to so see all of epcot.

But I don't see this happening...I just thought their play on words intriguing

Now Lee, must we not forget the new "ride" for this area? :animwink:

Just look at a map and you can see that this is a prime location for either a bus entrance or access to a "new transportation system". Now reread all the clever comments above and see if it fits the oblique references.

I've always wondered about the coincidence of the Axis powers of WWII surrounding the USA pavilion at Epcot.

Japan/USA/Italy/Germany

USA wasn't an Axis power though??

How in the world did you get THAT out of what i said?

I think another country at Epcot would be great... but so would adding something to a few of the current countries. I don't see much of a draw to a few of the locations in World Showcase and before people jump all over me, clearly this is just my opinion. I would like to see each country have some type of an attraction aside from just food. I think Norway did it right and that should be the model of future additions to World Showcase.

Of any of the coutries being named I think Peru could have a great impact on the landscape of WS and bring in a south american country. It would be nice to see a tie in with the emperor's new groove too, but thats just me.

Why don't TPTB just put this issue to rest and add another country. They can rename the Food and Wine Festival to:

Wine Country

It is too bad they couldn't do something like this to help block the view of the Swan and Dolphin from EPCOT. Heck, I am all for WDW re-theming the Swan and Dolphin buildings as big mountains with a ski chalet theme...but that is a topic for a different time.

Mee too Unfortunately Disney Does not own them.
