New Country at Epcot?!?!?

"Screamscape announced rumors of a new country at Epcot." Quaint punctuation aside, also mentioning the fact Screamscape announced the rumor in 2011 might be a little pertinent....

Some sites, like this one, get it right based on the information they receive at the time. Others, not so much. But this is less blue sky than it is some stating Screamscape was reporting a new country was coming, which even by their standards they didn't. Their last rumor was that Disney had approached the Brazilian government about the possibility of sponsoring a pavilion (which actually came from a WESH report, and I seem to remember this site having a thread about it as well). but again, that was from April, 2011. I realize it's summer and all, and the "new country at EPCOT" is an annual rite of passage around now, but let's try for a modicum of accuracy too.

WS is great, but IMO there should be an attraction per country. The countries without attractions have always felt unfinished to me and still do.

My vote is not for a new country but for new attractions in Japan, where there is a large show building already, and/or Germany, where there is part of a show building. I would love a new country but new attractions would be almost as good and more feasible.

I understand the Japan show building is used for storage at present; fine, build a dedicated storage facility somewhere offstage and move the stuff into that.

It would be a nice idea if each country had its own attraction. The question is: what would be the nature of the attraction?

I envision WS as the "grown-up" park, with the Kidcot and Agent J included to entertain smaller children. I hope WS remains a place where people with physical ailments can take it relatively easy and enjoy shows, not rides.

Hard to believe the "new countries being added to EPCOT" rumors are still alive and kicking. I remember being told by a CM that EPCOT would soon be adding Russia and Switzerland.... in 1994. Aaaaaaany minute now.
