New Coaster Rumor @ DHS ??

Maybe, just maybe they have something bigger planned for "The Incredibles" than a simple Indoor Spinning Coaster. Time will tell. Personally I would rather wait for an E ticket Incredibles ride.

Yeah your right, the Incredibles should be used for a e-ticket instead of a spinning coaster. Maybe the incredibles ride is that rumored e-ticket coming in 2009/2010

Does anyone think that Disney puts out these rumors themselves to Screamscape and other sources to guage the interest from the public?

We all have heard in the past that Disney Imagineers and executives read the Disney forums, so maybe they are looking for the next project, but seeing how the public reacts to each rumor to determine which is the best.

On a side note to the rumor, I've heard that Crush's Coaster is amazing and needs to come to WDW or Disneyland ASAP. Although I don't know if Ratatouille is the right theme for it. I don't think that movie has the staying power of other Pixar movies. I don't want Incredibles for that, because my dream is to have an Incredibles ride similar to the Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure someday.

This rumor does match the press release by Disney talking about the addition of Pixar Land. Pixar land of course needs to have more than one attraction to be called a land. So the fast tracking of an of the shelf ride system, add some themeing in an existing building should be fairly quick and will add the needed Pixar presence.

I would guess that it's certainly possible that Disney has done some testing of the waters in the approach you suggest above, but I would be careful about believing they put all that much weight into what they find.

The issue is that the users of these forums aren't really the target audience that Disney would try to please. Most posters on forums such as this are die-hard Disney nuts who tend to be MUCH more critical of the attractions and rides put in place. Many of the posters here are Cast Members, and thus won't really be brining in any revenue to Disney anyway as they aren't spending much money on gate admission or souvineers and such.

The average family that goes to WDW is the target market and many of them would be thrilled with an attraction that most of us on this board might be very dissapointed in...

Understand what I'm trying to say...?

And yet some were willing to strap themselves to a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride vehicle to save that attraction from destruction.

A good ride is a good ride, regardless of the character's popularity (just as a popular character like Stictch does not guarantee a good attraction.)

:ROFLOL: I remember reading about the Toad-in's they had at WDW to stop the destruction of the ride.

I totally agree, a good ride is a good ride regardless of the character.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the basic design for Primeval Hurl as well?

I loved Ratatouille and believe that down the road it will endure; however, it seems a bit uninspired to make another spinning coaster like "Hurl" and Mulholland Madness, both dreadful attractions, IMO.

Feeling kind of cranky today, sorry :zipit:

Don't worry, you aren't the only one that hates "hurl"

From everything that I've heard, Crush's Coaster is a LOT different than the simple little spinning coaster at AK. In fact, just last week on Inside the Magic, Skipper Ben said that it was AMAZING when he went, and that him and his wife ended up riding it like 8 times. This sounds like a totally different technology and ride layout than Primeval Whirl...in fact, from what he was saying, this sounds like it may actually BE an E Ticket....

Regardless, the more new attractions at the Studios, the better.

Spinning? WHY does it have to be spinning! :hurl:

I'll add that to my list of "no thanks I like my breakfast where it is" rides.

The Incredbles on the other hand is one of the most popular pixar movies(if not the most popular) and its one of the only ones that doesnt have a ride. I personally hope that this rumor isnt true and that they build a Incredi-coaster.
I would not say that, no matter how the box office numbers skew. Incredibles is not nearly as beloved as the Toy Story franchise or Finding Nemo. You can always count on a Man Utd fan to make a mess of things, eh?

But seriously, this does look suspiciously like Primevil. Do we really need it to be spinny? Wouldn't a regular old wild mouse coaster be better?

A spirit talked about this a while back, and even now I still have doubts since I remember hearing how the crush attraction in paris is low capacity, Unless they double up like they did for the dino coaster in AK...

I have ridden that coaster in Lagoon. It is way different from Primevil Whirl. I loved it at Lagoon and would love to see WDW do it.

The coaster is different. It is manufactured by a different company, and the cars sit differently. It's a Mauere-Sohne spinner, and Europe has several of them, so the layout is easily customizeable.

As for Crush, calling it an E-ticket may be a stretch. It would need some decent extension and dark ride portions to be an E. But, it does look like a funa ttraction. I personally like Primeival Whirl, so I'm all for it. I do think themeing has to be a big part of it, and Ratatouille's kitchens certainly would lend itself to that. But, we'll see.

Has Mauere-Sohne created a train yet to replace the single car vehicles? If not then I don't see how it work with such a horribly low capacity. I think they'd be better off with Mack's version, like Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's Berry Farm. I rode that shortly after it opened and was amazed at what a great experience it was. It has been wildly successful so far there, so I'd imagine it would recieve even better reactions with themeing at WDW.

What about a Cars themed ride? Does it not fit in with the ride layout as it is in the Studios? I've just been surprised that there hasn't been any ride/attraction themed to this as yet or maybe I'm thinking that the movie was more popular than it really was.
