i wonder what the sensativity level is on it or the delay. i wonder if it would shoot soap out if you just washed your hands with water.

I recently used a Disney restroom where the soap dispenser was automatic, the water was automatic, and the towel dispenser was automatic.

It's the trend of the future.

You do need to put your hands directly under the spout, and it fires it directly downwards intoy our hands. It looks a really well implemented system, it would be very welcome in all the other restrooms I think. The electronic GP paper towel system is great as well.

Cool!

I've used these in other places (looks like the exact same ones, actually). Very neat! I'm sure custodial will be glad they won't have to put towels under all the old dispensers that would leak all the time, anymore (what a mess they would make).

Of course, I'm still glad they got rid of that awful powder soap they had a few years back. That stuff dried my hands out so badly.

Actually, I have a question now. If these are the Yak & Yeti, which is not operated by WDW, does that mean that these won't be added to the remaining restrooms in WDW?

They are in the outdoor Yak and Yeti food court area. I'm not sure under who's control this is. They have all of the hallmarks of Disney on them, and they seemed to being cleaned by WDW custodial.

I have not encountered the automatic paper towel dispensers at WDW, yet. But I do love them, where I have used them, elsewhere! I am a bit of a germaphobe, so I HATE having to grab the handle to crank out a towel, after I just finished washing my hands.:eek:

nice... it also helps regulate the stuff coming out... less soap wasted and less paper towels wasted. I've encountered this stuff at airports up north and in CA on my last vacation.

Nice to see new technology being used at wdw.

Don't worry, I'm the same way. I use my elbow to crank out a paper towel when necessary :D.

That's a good sign! I'd really like to see these implemented across WDW. Thanks for answering so quickly :)

Let us also pay homage to those somewhat new XLERATOR hand driers that have been popping up here and there. Someone finally made a hand drier with the heat of a hair drier and the force of a leaf blower.

Oh I am a big fan of that drier! Sadly though, it seemed unpopular at WDW due to its medium-high noise output (my wife hates them!). It has been removed from many of the restrooms. The only place I know of it still in operation is the Everest bathrooms.
I made an entire thread on this one when they launched http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=38034 :)

That is a shame because they work so well and you are not killing a tree a day drying your hands with paper towels.

Cool...hope the trend continues through the parks....although I don't see it happening too quickly in the older restrooms where drilling and removal of existing units would take a bit of work...who knows...think these kind of units can accomodate larger volume UNDER the sink to save the staff refill time. Now all they have to do is get stall doors and TP automated and we will be all set....:lookaroun....and noone comes to the park sick....

I think the automatic ones that I used recently (soap/water/towels) were at Jiko or the Grand Floridian- one of the fancier places.

I like having everything automatic and touch-free. I hate touching anything in a public bathroom.

Now I wish Disney would copy their Cruise Line and put sanitation stations around the park.

It would be nice if the restroom doors opened themselves on the way out. That way my nice clean hands wouldn't have to touch the door handles to get out of the restroom.:animwink:

The restrooms off the River Roost lounge at POR got the automatic soap dispensers during a refurb last May, kind of a neat I thought the first time I saw them! ... simple things make you happy at Disney!:)
