New automated touch-free soap dispensers in restrooms

I would love to see the automated everything (soap dispenser, water and drying systems) in all WDW restrooms. I would have expected to see those appear at EPCOT first, but however they get them, I'm happy to see them!!! With regard to the Xcellerator (or whatever they're called) dryers, they have them at the grocery store I go to and if you hold your hands lower (not right under the blower) it makes a lot less noise. The store put signs up on the dryers and it's made a huge difference and my hands are dry in half the time. Although, with the number of people using the restrooms at any one time at WDW, I would imagine it could get extremely loud in there in very little time. That's probably the main reason that WDW will not install many (if any) of those high-efficiency dryers.

I have not encountered the automatic paper towel dispensers at WDW, yet. But I do love them, where I have used them, elsewhere! I am a bit of a germaphobe, so I HATE having to grab the handle to crank out a towel, after I just finished washing my hands.:eek:
me too... now all we need is automatic doors in those bathrooms that actually have a door to exit into a plaza and im home free!

Let us also pay homage to those somewhat new XLERATOR hand driers that have been popping up here and there. Someone finally made a hand drier with the heat of a hair drier and the force of a leaf blower.
so you are saying those hand dryers in your local McDonalds with all the "directions" scratched out attempting to make some vulger sentence arent worth a.......

i agree. i did however get shocked by one one time and i didnt even sue! imagine that.

I'm fine with everything else automatic, it's the paper towel dispensers that I hate being automatic. I always use a little more then they give out. But then you have to take the stupid paper towels off the roll before it dispenses any more. :fork: :lookaroun (Stupid gripe, I know.)

I love those! They actually work and are entertaining to watch as well.

That's why you use the Scrubby Bear method of hand washing.
1. Gather you paper towels. Hold under arm.
2. Turn on your water.
3. Get soap.
4. Wash
5. Rinse
6. Dry
7. Turn off water using your paper towels to turn the .

Very welcome change. Thanks for the info!

Now let's see if they can replace the feminine hygiene machines with ones that don't say "coffee machine out of order." That got quite a laugh from me and my friends in October when we noticed it in a bathroom at AK.

I like having everything automatic and touch-free. I hate touching anything in a public bathroom.

Now I wish Disney would copy their Cruise Line and put sanitation stations around the park.

Those sanitation stations aren't really supposed to be good for public health according to what I've heard.

Probably why they haven't surfaced yet.

Aside from very closed environments (like cruise ships), they are said to build super viruses with too frequent use by people. Not sure if this is why they haven't appeared yet.:veryconfu

I love the idea of automation in the bathroom. The thing I don't understand about sinks is that the faucet can be as fancy or as tall as they want it, but they always make it so your hands are close to the back of the sink. If you are gonna make a fancy faucet, why not make it hang over the MIDDLE instead of the back of the sink?

It is the wave of the future. I am a Facilities Manager and have been working on a project since last June to replace all of our faucets, soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers with hands-free devices. We have installed the same devices that Disney is using now. I am glad to see Disney doing this now, it is more hygenic among other reasons. Maybe next will be waterless urinals... sounds weird but they work really well and would be in line with Disney trying to be a more Green company.
