Wonder what the rate would be on that two level penthouse. 15k? 20k?

Oh that’s right. But you have to buy points right? Would that be the case here?
In Florida, some rooms at every timeshare has to be available for rent by law. I don’t know if Cali is the same?

But those rooms - at least in Orlando - are cash. Not a good deal, but they are available

Probably logistics on selling the points…after that, it will be tough. There’s way more demand for dvc in California to leave much of anything as cash available

I very briefly entertained the idea in my head of buying a very paltry number of points for this hotel, but then I realized something Disney probably realized before they even broke ground, the price per point here can be astronomical and they will get away with it. GCV sale is reportedly over $310+ per point on a 150 point minimum; how much is a 30 year contract gonna go for here? $325? Higher?

Not only astronomical cost…but the volume of points they sell means it will be hard to get.

I don’t see much of a point if it’s booked solid all the time.

The whole problem with dvc is this: they are not building enough park attractions/draws to make it worthwhile…there’s a hole in the bucket and it’s been leaking for going on 20 years. That’s the real problem.

To be fair this one blends pretty well with the other towers of the Disneyland hotel and the style in general.
Exactly. I’ve seen so many comments about the “lack of theme,” but the Disneyland Hotel itself has never really been themed. One could say it’s themed to Disneyland, but it’s very subtle.

Not sure what people were expecting, but I agree that this new tower matches what’s already there.

The price per point will be $217. They never price active resorts based on sold out resorts. Plus they have 4 million points to sell, this will be their 4th resort they’re actively selling, and DVC isn’t exactly selling like hotcakes right now.

Also VGC has come way down from its brief ludicrous flirtation with $300, you can find contracts now under $250

Now the VDH point chart, that might be crazy.

"Disneyland high-rollers with money to burn will soon be able to sleep in a $6,000 per night multi-level luxury suite normally reserved for club members that will be available to the general public.

"The 12-story Disney Vacation Club Villas now under construction at the Disneyland Hotel will open in September with studios and suites that are expected to cost $800 to $6,000 per night.

"Reservations will be available for DVC time share members on March 15, Disneyland Magic Key annual passholders on March 16 and the general public on March 17."...

Theyre not going to sell all 4 million points in a month, or even a year. So they’ll have a lot of inventory to rent for cash at first.
Sure, I understand that concept. Typically the points are on sale sooner.

I guess my end goal with my comment was to understand when the points will go live for sale.

In their defense, from my hillside perch in OC that area on July 4th and New Year's Eve often had some of the best displays of illegal fireworks smuggled in from Tijuana of the entire county.

There was fireworks kerfuffle that rivaled it south in Santa Ana, but the flatlands of western Anaheim always puts on a good fireworks show!

They’re selling timeshares for high cost to go to packed parks…IF you can get in.

The actual stunning trajectory of how Bobdom has turned the park trajectory in just 10 years is amazing

It’s a numbers problem…why is the only park project under construction in the US a Moana statue with a garden hoss attached to it?

These are becoming hard realities. And the management has failed to strengthen its core product.
