Nemo Concept Art Woes

I think that the first one is lacking one important fish -- Nemo! But other than that, I prefer the first one. The second one is far too busy visually for my tastes. Slap Nemo in the first one and I'd be happy. Of course, that's just me. :)

Remeber, the whole premise of the ride is that Nemo is missing.

I think it really is just related to the stories themselves. As stated earlier, the DL attraction will be a Fantasyland-like dark-ride presentation where you basically go through the film from everything stated. The Seas is a brief presentation.

On a side note, the differences do provide hope that perhaps the focus will really be on Mr. Ray's classroom/his thoughts and what you are seeing instead of just finding Nemo since he is the sole character group appearing with a focus in the Seas art.

My two cents-

From what I understand, Epcot82Guy has it about right. The DL Subs will feature the Nemo characters during the course of the ride, while the Sea Cabs at Epcot will only feature Mr. Ray's class lecture as you travel through a real (well, living) reef. They are completely different rides, but utilize the same entertainment technology to put the characters in place. Because of this, it just seems a cost saving measure to remove those characters not appearing and recycle the artwork.

But I will still miss 20kLUTS at MK.

The more I think about it, the more the big difference in trip times between these two Nemo rides will be quite impactful on the overall "show".

3.5 Minutes for the Epcot Nemo ride - versus - 9.5 Minutes for the Disneyland Nemo ride

Maybe they'll just have the fish talk really fast in Epcot's version? :D

I think many of you need to reread the official press release. Also while the cabs used to last only 3.5 minutes the ride has been extended.

The Seas with Nemo & Friends Brings Familiar Characters to Life Inside Epcot Aquarium

The Seas with Nemo & Friends, a whimsical and visually stunning attraction for guests of all ages, is scheduled to open at Epcot in Fall 2006. Featuring technology that for all appearances has the stars of "Finding Nemo" swimming amid the live marine life of the huge aquarium in The Living Seas pavilion, the attraction is an adventure that picks up where the motion picture left off.

The undersea voyage begins aboard "clamobiles" in a colorful coral reef setting. Guests first meet Mr. Ray and his class on a field trip and soon learn that Nemo has wandered off.

The journey to find Nemo continues as familiar characters such as Dory, Bruce, Marlin, Squirt and Crush help with the search along the way. These deep sea friends inhabit a variety of vibrant vignettes, including the actual aquarium -- one of the world's largest saltwater aquariums -- which contains more than 65 species of marine life.

In the musical finale of the attraction, Nemo is happily reunited with his class and friends.

Upon exiting the attraction, guests can explore the rest of the pavilion, which is home to "Turtle Talk with Crush," the smash-hit recent addition featuring the movie's laid-back sea turtle, who interacts with guests in real-time, unscripted conversations; Bruce's Shark World, an interactive area with colorful graphics and fun facts about sharks; and live marine life in both the large aquarium and specialized exhibits.

A big difference is that at DL....the ride will be considered one of the "major attractions"....at Epcot.....the pavilion itself is the major attraction, the ride is a smaller part of the attraction....

That's what I was trying to say :)

There is absolutely no way the old seas ride was three and a half minutes long. You loaded, went around a small circle, and then a short straightaway. Thats it.

I was going off the concept art and reading in that the FOCUS may be more on Mr. Ray's classroom, although the release definitely pointed out the other chracters. Really, it was somewhat vague (intentionally, most likely), so we'll have to see. And, the fact this is not a "feature" attraction suggests to me that it may take a different approach. Hopefully some info will start leaking as work continues.

I got the 3.5 Minute trip time from the pavilion rundown on this website. But I thought that was a bit optimistic.

I seem to remember this ride taking about two minutes to complete, if that. Maybe the "3.5 Minute" figure is the time it takes a Seacab to go around the full and complete cycle, from loading area back to loading area?

But the part of the ride that people were actually on seemed to take only about two minutes, if that. It's been a few years though, so maybe my memory has shortened it?

Whatever, it's a quick ride.

Please tell me the first picture wasn't finished in time for the press release and that the Living Seas nemo ride wont be fishie-less.

Why in the world would you ever think you had the final print that and Disney park is working with? If something was released or leaked it sure would not be a completed piece of art.
Dont worry it will have everything Nemo was about included.

Well then, slap a d***a** tag on me and be done with it. :D I still don't like the look of the second one. Whatever it turns out to be, I'm looking forward to the real thing.

They're taking out one of the theatres and making it track aren't they? That should extend the time a bit.

When i looked out in the blue it was like...wait for it...wait for it...then again now that i look back, i didnt have my glasses so i probobly missed the few fish that were out in the open anyway.

Do the sea cabs offer a better view of the fish and coral?

There are plenty of fish but dosen't seem to be as diverse as it used to be, more like just atlantic kinda off the florida cost type fish. And as for Corals Sorry but I sure don't remember seeing real coral their? Just a lot of fake coral things. I wonder how long it takes to scrub the algae off all that fake coral? I have a good question has anybody seen any crusteacens in that tank? Maybe crabs or shrimp hiding from the aggresive fish?
