Nemo Concept Art Woes

I agree.....the park is the most out of balance, but looking at the parks together, kids need their place too....

I guess to make MK more teen/adult friendly, more kiddie attractions would need to be added at the other parks to keep the overall balance.

Anyway....I think with the re-invention of a few attractions (PoTC, HM, Space MT) the park, just from those moves, will gear itself more to the older set......

And I think this is happening with the Nemos (Epcot and AK) and possibly the next addition to MGM.

I hope you're right and I think you might be. I'm still holding out hope for a true thrill ride (again doesn't have to be an AE) to be added there again in the future. And it doesn't have to be thrills either. Attractions like HoP and CoP tend to bring in a lot of adults and we aren't seeing attractions like that anymore. Adults used to have the Diamond Horseshoe and other forms of entertainment around the park. Hopefully everything goes in cycles and it will come back around.

Except for Storytime with Belle, Playhouse Disney, and Pocahotass and her Forest Friends, I don't really consider live entertainment to be to kiddie-focused.

The Epcot ride on the other hand, I agree.

One will be.....

2009 is not looking like a good year for Orlando tourism.....I know that many companies are preparing to make the best of the bad year.

But are live entertainment shows really what that audience is looking for? I feel that shows like FotLK, Flights of Wonder, Fantasmic, Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, etc. appeal equaly and the kids probably consider these shows to be "their own".

Might I ask why 2009?

I think many in that audience are looking for shows. Just as there is a balance between kid and adult attractions, there is one between rides and shows.

It is complex.

You know how humans have a natural biorhythm cycle that influences our body, and women have their cycle in addition, .....well, for Orlando, 2009 is going to be a year where our biorhythms are at their low point, we are on our period, and our bills are due, all at the same time....in addition, our partner just left us, we are pregnant, and the car is on the fritz....

ok. I'll bite.

Regarding the election? The light rail? An issue with the airport or hotel industry?

Or, is this more of a national problem?

It is nothing major.....just certain foctors come in to play were certain years are better than others due to a variety of factors...

For instance, the large citywide conventions, which bring a few million visitors of Orlando each year, and a few hundred thousand to WDW.....even years are always better than odd years, as many conventions are on rotation between here and Las Vegas...and every few odd years, there is a major drop.....2009 is that year, whereas the citywide vistors will be about 40% of what they were this year.

Also, the first year of a new president typically is a down tourism year.

there are many other factors....most of them are boring.....but these are a few things we are looking at.
