Have they wrecked yet?

Isn't that the only reason people watch?

Can't speak for others, but no, I don't watch these races for the wrecks. I listen to the commentary and try to learn more about the sport from the crew chiefs, the spotters, drivers and their pit crews. There's a lot of skill and strategy, and the track size and weather also play into this quite a bit as well. I'm in no way an expert on NASCAR at all, but I find the races to be very exciting. I like the different personalities of the drivers, too. :)

Clint Bowyer's my favorite driver. I was raised watching NASCAR so I think a lot of race fans have it passed down through their family.

Racing was not in my family at all. As a matter of fact, I'm the only one in my family and friends who has any interest in it at all. I've only seen it on tv, and I always found it so exciting. But what really got me psyched about NASCAR was the first time I rode in a race car (as a passenger), and believe it or not, it was at the WDW Raceway (Richard Petty Riding Experience). That's a short track and I was so happy to be flying around the race track! Then, some years later, I did the same thing, but on a visit to Daytona. Wow. Daytona was wild! The driver took me at a speed of 170 or so and he rode high up on the banks! I thought we were going to fly off into the stands!! That was the most thrilling ride of my LIFE!!! And, like the driver said to me, "Now imagine you're on this track with 43 other drivers, all going around 180+ mph!! Yikes. I am a NASCAR fan! :joyfull:

A whole lot of drivers ed off at Kesolowski. He was six laps down and racing the hell out of the leaders. I was Following the race on twitter and a bunch of the drivers and crew chiefs were wondering what he was doing. Then he wrecked and took out a bunch of cars.

Something tells me we haven't heard the end of that one . . . ;)

On a different subject, I thought it was great to see Danica Patrick take a lead on lap 4. She's not in my top 5 favorite drivers or anything, but I do admire her skill and ambition to join in a mostly male-dominated sport.

Danica has shown skill at restrictor plate races. Her best chance to win is at Talladega or Daytona.

I know it is not NASCAR but I follow formula 1 racing. Go Hamilton 4th pole in a row, the fight at on at team Mercedes . Who will win in Barcelona today Rosberg or Hamilton?
Quite honestly I have no idea about whom you speak. Perhaps if you start your own European racing thread, you may find more to chitchat with that share your interest that don't follow NASCAR.
