What a great race. A 4 car shoot out for the win?! Never saw that before.

What is going on with Tony Stewart? He has not been competitive all year. Is it the leg? Age? Problems with going to a 4 team operation? What do you all think?
I think he has WAY too many things going on in his life.

I can tell you that Tony Stewart actually is doing better at this time of this year than last year as odd as it seems. Stewart only had 1 top 10 in the first 11 races last year compare to 4 this year in 9 races. That means you dealing with a driver that hasn't been the same since the early of the 2012 season when he won 2 of the first of 5 races.

At Daytona, Tony Stewart did say his leg was only at 65 percent starting the season.

Tony Stewart also usually isn't at his best before May based only has 4 out of his 48 career cup wins before May.

I don't think Tony Stewart isn't bad shape considering he actually has 4 top 10's this season compare to 1 in the first 9 races last season. Stewart also is 15th in points this year compare to being 21st in points after 9 races in 2013. He did luck into some of his results this year.

The thing is Stewart-Haas isn't what I call consistent and that isn't helping Stewart. Harvick seems to have speed at every track this year, unlike his teammates.

I'll be concern with Stewart when August comes if he doesn't get hot. I think Stewart right now has to be at 70 percent at least since he was at 65 percent in February.

I think Smoke still has a chance to pull forward. At 42, he's a seasoned veteran with more racing years ahead.

Yet, I'm not without concern for him—not so much about his leg—but how much of a distraction team ownership figures into this. IMO, drivers who can focus specifically on their racing skills would have an upper edge, overall. I would think that juggling ownership and racing would be a challenging balancing act.
