I'm pleasantly surprised it's not prix fixe -- even the Disney post makes it sound prix fixe.

I'm curious to see what the new interior looks like, though. Removing the multiple levels was a likely mistake no matter what it looks like (multiple levels are almost always good for the look of a restaurant), but hopefully they've done something to keep it from being a giant open room.

I wonder if it was an ADA issue. Could be that the restaurant was grandfathered into an existing ADA code and when they renovated it had to come up to standard codes of today’s timeframe.

I can't imagine why -- there are tons of multi-level restaurants, and the ADA just requires reasonable accommodations. It wouldn't require every single table in the restaurant to be ADA accessible as long as some are.

I was thinking maybe the required percentage of accessibility had increased and it didn’t meet the threshold anymore. Or maybe the ramps up (I can’t remember if there were ramps or not) had an outdated rise over run.

I used to be in leadership in a botanical garden and there were areas of the garden we couldn’t renovate or remodel specifically because there was no way to bring them up to new ADA code even though they met code when built. That is why it’s usually the first thing I think of when you see major structural changes.

OK - if interested? GET AWAY FROM WDW OWNED FAST FOOD.... or don't.

1) Swan Dolphin.... Shulla's, Il Mulino. Both stunning.
2) Disney Springs... LOADS of fine offerings, with real menus. BOATHOUSE... PADDLEFISH.... STK... EDISON. All great - with actual menus.
3) CAPA. Wonderful REAL Restaurant.
4) Bull&Bear.... Wonderful REAL High End Restaurant.

WDW now wants to be in the junk food business.... Suggesting you avoid Junk Food, unless that is what you desire. Quick breakfast? Best is Whispering Canyon. Quick Lunch? Skip it and get a basic Coke - save up for that GREAT Dinner :).
There are MANY fine dining alternatives - not WDW owned, a short cab ride away :).

The problem with that place was it was clunky…since day 1.

Not sure how you can make it much better?

Well that's kind of my thinking -- removing the multiple levels is going to make it worse; it'll feel like a cafeteria. Unless they have done some other major construction on the dining area, which is possible.

It’s the octagonal shape and rather standard sized windows. It didn’t translate from the drawing board. Not much you can do there

Lots of ways to break up a restaurant without the need for multiple levels that most restaurant workers hate, and makes the restaurant less accessible.
Yes…if you hadn’t put it across the water from a fiberglass castle mock up that theh knew was gonna cause problems…
Bad planning if we’re honest
