Ok so I know this sounds horrible and I would never entertain this idea but my fiance and I are looking into it. We have had this trip planned since march. She was expecting from what her friends told me to get her engagment ring in WDW so I stepped it up and gave it to her for graduation. It drained the bank! Now we have just been hit with every road block imaginable trying to pay for this trip in sept by the 45days due date. which is in like 30 days. Her car has broken down, we had a death in the family, i was out sick from work for a few days, its just a nightmare.

or how about has disney ever extended the 45 day payment time for anyone?

Thank you all for your imput!
The loan Idea was out. The loan we were looking for was just goign to be short term like 3 months. nothing drawn out. WE can justify this expense all day long. However there has just been so many speedbumps these past two months then we have seen all year!

I have talked to Disney and seeing if we can get that deadline extended. worth a shot to atleast ask and if any one on this board has a little "pixie dust" or some pull please shoot me a message if you can help!

If that doesnt work we have three other options we are goign to look at but baby steps. I want to see how this plays out. I am hoping Disney will give me some magic here.

I am sending you some pixie dust. I wanted to share with you this though. My DH and I had origionally booked free dining at the Poly. But after looking at things, we just couldn't afford it this year. (We are going through IVF - that is our financial hurdle). So I was going to cancel the trip. We have always stayed in Deluxes and after saying that out loud to my DH, I realized how crazy I sounded. What he told me, along with several other people I spoke to, it wasn't about where we stayed but that we just got there. We need this vacation after the past year. So we moved our reservation to free dining at POR with a Royal Room. The savings was so much that we were able to add 3 more days to our trip! And still save money and afford the vacation! We just paid it off early too! So the point is, with all that has happened to you and your fiance (congratulations by the way! :) ), you could just see if you could change your resort and you will save a lot. Good luck with everything! :)

There are always going to be financial challenges for you in your married life, and you really need to prepare for them with an emergency fund before you start planning an expensive vacation. At the very least, change your reservation to a less expensive hotel or shorten the lemgth of your stay, but at this point you simply cannot afford this. Start a vacation account for that dream vacation sometime in the future, but right now you really need to change your priorities. JMHO

Personally I would prefer to have a few days to help a client with their final payment. Having Disney tighten their rules would change the game for everyone, not just travel agents. I appreciate Disney allowing us a small amount of leeway so that we can help our clients in any way that we can.

It's helpful for last minute bookings, indeed. And really, that's what it should be used for. If someone books months in advance, I don't think they should be given another day....and then another day....when they've had months to save the money and pay it off. It just makes it difficult on the agent, Disney and ultimately the client if they have to do things the less magical way (i.e. DME Plan B).
