I have only been to the Yak and Yeti, and we were really pleased with it. Food was delicious :slurp:

With the group you are going with I think you have chosen well though! I can't vouch for the dining plan, so not sure what else you could go with?! Sorry!

Love breakfast at Crystal palace, haven't had dinner at Chef Mickey's, but have been there several times for breakfast. I think you will enjoy it, the character interaction alone is worth it!

Another option, it your children will fish, is the Coral Reef. It is actually located in the Seas Pavillion and is surrounded my fish tanks. If you get lucky like we were our last time there, there will be divers in the tank while you eat. The food was delish and my son had a wonderful time watching all the fish seim by. Just a thought.

Yes
Hoop Dee Doo > CRT IMHO

The food quality and whatnot isn't the same as it was when it was King Steffans!

Wow...you've got a lot of nice meals set up! We go to Hollywood and Vine every trip and we love it, and having the Fantasmic package is a must.

Have fun!

Here goes -

Day 1 - MK - Breakfast at Crystal Palace our favorite character breakfast
Day 2 - MK - Dinner at Chef Mickeys (never been before) always a fun place
Day 3 - HS - Dinner Fantasmic Package - Hollywood & Vine - (never been) sorry...but you could not pay us to eat here ever again. We gave it two tries--should have stopped after one
Day 4 - Epcot - Dinner at Garden Grill - (never been) haven't been in years--so I don't know what to say
Day 5 - AK - Dinner at Yak & Yeti - (never been) a surprise for me; I don't normall like this type of food but DH does...it ended up being the second best meal of our trip last year (after LeCellier)
Day 6 - Breakfast at CRT or dinner at Hoop De Doo never done either

What do you think? Is this the best use of our TS meals?

Hope this helps.

D1 - Went to Crystal Palace for lunch (3kids + DH)...we all enjoyed it. Nice buffet and characters were great! Nice break from the park mid day
D2 - We did Chef Mickeys for breakfast... we all enjoyed it although our kids were tired...we went too early for them:( Characters were great! Can be LOUD!
D3 - We did the Fantasmic Package with H&V...kids loved the all you can eat shrimp:) ...service okay...I didn't like the other Fantasmic Package restaurant choices so this was IMHO the best deal. I think with Fantasmic only 2 times/week almost makes the package a must!
D4 - We all enjoyed Garden Grill...We had a super friendly server...food was edible
D5 - Haven't been to Yak & Yeti...not sure my kids would like their cuisine?
D6 - Loved the Hoop Dee Doo!!! Corny but A LOT OF FUN:sohappy:
Haven't been to CRT...hoping to go this trip for breakfast....just DD and myself....DH will treat the boys to "sleeping in"...too$$$ for a family of 5 for bacon & eggs...IMHO

You have picked some nice restaurants...Have a magical trip:wave:

From a purely value-for-money aspect, I avoid using TS credits for breakfasts. Crystal Palace breakfast is $18.99 for adults, $10.99 for ages 3-9. The same credit for dinner gets you a $28.99/adult, $13.99/child meal.

My first thought was what Monty had stated, breakfasts are not the best (dollar wise) use of dining credits.

Big vote here for Hoop de do Review. A Disney must do and fun for all ages!
With the young children and limited Fantasmic shows, I would definitely do the package. IMHO however, I think the children may be too young to enjoy the show, so unless you are set at wanting to see it....a meal at 50's Prime Time may be a nice alternative.

I personally don't like Yak and Yeti (although on the dining plan, cost doesn't factor in). I think it's overprices Chinese food. Not bad, but nothing exciting either. Again, my main complaint there is cost.

Garden Grill is OK....but I think there is a lot better dining to be had in Epcot. If you are focused on character interaction, you can get it free in Innovations.

We start our first full day of every trip with breakfast at the Crystal Palace. We like the characters and the buffet, but my favorite part is getting to walk down Main Street before thie park opens... we always take a few pictures of the castle and the vew looking down Main St. without the crowds before we check in at CP.

Other choices are some good ones, too. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the input!

You are right. Breakfast is not the best use of the plan, but like so many others, it is a family tradition, plus we are in the parks early and we have friends staying off property who will join us. This is our friends' first trip to WDW. We want to start off their trip with a little extra magic. That combined with the yummy chicken and green beans at Cosmic Rays led to the breakfast choice.

Day 1 - MK - Breakfast at Crystal Palace
The food is usually pretty good
Day 2 - MK - Dinner at Chef Mickeys (never been before)
We had a great dinner here in December
Day 3 - HS - Dinner Fantasmic Package - Hollywood & Vine - (never been)
The food isn't anything special, but it's nice to not have to get to Fantasmic super early
Day 4 - Epcot - Dinner at Garden Grill - (never been)
We haven't been back here in a few years, but DH loved the catfish
Day 5 - AK - Dinner at Yak & Yeti - (never been)
Never been, but it's on our list
Day 6 - Breakfast at CRT or dinner at Hoop De Doo
If you have little girls CRT is the place to go. I have boys so avoid breakfast here the dinner is better for boys, but still a bit girly
