Muppetvision- Retire or relocate?

With some speculation that Star Wars might head more towards the parking lot, seems like there might be room for a Muppets mini-land in the current space- obviously probably dependent on how the show does.

With all the DHS expansion news, it's obvious that the space where Muppetvision is will need to be used. I would think that with the new Muppets series they would want to keep the attraction. When looking at the park map is there anywhere that they can relocate Muppetvision? I would think it might work over by Disney Junior Live. Is there any empty space they can move it into? I'd hate to see this attraction lost.
Relocate it to Epcot in the Captain EO theater, and then re-do Imagination Pavilion with Muppets... Keep figment alive though!

I have little confidence in the Muppets area being touched at all. There are 14 acres surrounding Star Tours that can be consumed without interfering with Muppets.
What I believe IS on the chopping block to make room, is American Idol, Indiana Jones Stunt Show, Backlot Express and a relocated parade building:

Keep in mind, they just made TWO Muppet films, and an upcoming Primetime Network TV show

I really hope it only gets expanded or updated. I mean, Muppetvision was the last time Jim Henson voiced Kermit and worked on it. I know it is dated but with the Muppets coming back to ABC, 2 movies out now I really want an expanded area for them. The park wouldn't be the same without Muppetvision to me.

I completely agree with this idea if they don't decide to keep it at DHS- which I think they should. It would be a natural fit for the EO theatre and the ride in Imagination could be the modern update it needs- without Waldo please! I could see Muppet Labs taking over where the play area is after the figment ride (name?). The Muppets are all about imagination!

I think the show will be a hit-it has the right vibe to it. If not, it may be a while before we see our felt friends =(

Also, with a huge Pixar (toy story) and Lucas presence, it seems like a punch in the gut to not include Muppets in a park that will focus on Disney's acquired IP's. If Tiki birds or Country Bear Jamboree can exist in their dated venues, clearly Muppets is not past its prime....

Sorry, but, aside from moving CoP from Disneyland to WDW, when has an attraction ever been relocated?

Magic Journeys, for one- also a 3D film.
It moved from Imagination at Epcot the Fantasyland Theater at the Magic Kingdom.

As for Muppets, I say keep it.
The show has held up remarkably well, still eats huge amounts of people in the busy season and gets laughs, and after the digital conversion, looks gorgeous.
It's the best 3D-film-based attraction of all time.

As others have said, I think if the new show does well enough we could see the attraction get a little TLC. They must still feel The Muppets are relevant seeing as they've made two more recent movies, and green lit the show.

As a huge muppets fan I don't want to see them go but if they do need the land I think the best solution would be to make a new movie. One where the muppets put on a "spoof" version of Star Wars! The muppets have done plenty of spoof movies and have also used Star Wars a lot as well! I think it's the perfect compromise where everyone could be happy!

Not yet it's not. And hopefully it won't be.

Plans exist for the attraction to be revamped.

with all due respect it is hardly a "horizons like loss" granted i want to see it saved for attraction count.....add FP+ bahahahahaha let suckers be suckers.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
There was a recent discussion of this on the General Discussion board, although I can't seem to find it. Other moves, FotLK, Dumbo and IaSW from the worlds fair to DL.
I suppose I should have said ride instead of attraction; FotLK is kind of different, since it's a show. But you're definitely right about Dumbo and iasw.
