An update-
The earliest the Tiana show could come back would be April 2010. Tiana and Naveen will continue to do meet n greets and Louis and Dr. Facilier will still not be available.

Tiana's Showboat is a really great show in FL, imo. I enjoyed the show and LOVED the atmosphere it added to the area. It will be missed by me at least. :(

I would kinda rather see the Muppets at Hollywood Studios not at the Magic Kingdom, just doesnt fit there too well to me. But I guess anything to help that old afternoon parade. Time for some brand new floats. Paris and Tokyo constantly get new ones, how come we cant or at least get their old ones.

I prefer the showboat jubilee at DL, it just fits perfectly. WDW's just seems out of place.

It may not be a perfect fit, but last I read it is more favored in MK according to Al Lutz. IDK how good his track record is- but I'm not surprised if it did happen to be true. All shows I saw were jam packed and the it looked amazing.

I doubt Al would say that:shrug: more so after reading what he thinks of WDW but thats another thread not worth discussing, as for Al's track record its been pretty good, keeping in mind he posts rumors on DLR.

And there's the silver lining of the Disney Parks corporate headache, as the original plans for the Jubilee on the Mark Twain were picked up and transported to WDW as well under the Disney Parks banner. The Disneyland-level of entertainment polish went over even bigger out in WDW, where they've had noticeably lower showmanship standards for far too long. The feedback from the Guest Research department at both properties has the Jubilee very highly rated, even though most folks have no idea who the characters are yet.
Even though the Disneyland version of the Jubilee was better funded, with more bling on the boat and more performers and extra special effects and that picture-perfect New Orleans Square setting, the Disneyland standards set up for the WDW Jubilee still took the Floridians by surprise.

But the bold is the best part of this.

And with crowds like these I'm hoping DL is planning on its return was well, well summer time at least.

Disney’s Honorary VoluntEARS Cavalcade (beginning Jan. 8) – Each afternoon just before the daily parade at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom (and at Disneyland Park in California), Muppets characters and parade dancers will join special floats and vehicles celebrating volunteerism and presenting Honorary VoluntEARS serving as Grand Marshals of the parades. Kermit, Miss Piggy and Sweetums will be part of the merriment, while the dancers will be donning outfits that celebrate the work of volunteers.

Say what you will about a 'New Orleans' show being in Liberty Square, but that show was the best offering of Entertainment from the company for a while. I really wish it was permanent. The crowd when I saw it was really into it too.

I agree it was the best show that the Magic Kingdom has offered in a long time. My family loved it!! Perfect length too. While we are talking shows, my group wishes they would do something about Dream Along With Mickey. It needs some help! Not as much as the old tired looking "Celebrate A Dream Come True" parade but both could be replaced with something new.

Yeah, Al Lutz just slammed WDW, no big surprise from him. Bringing a Disneyland level of showmansip and profesionalism to WDW entertainment is what impressed so many people back East who only know WDW offerings.

At Disneyland the Tiana Showboat Jubilee in New Orleans Square was popular and enjoyed, but it wasn't some life changing "WOW! This is the best thing since sliced bread!" event like it was for many WDW fans who have had their standards lowered incrementally over the years by TDO.

Part of me feels like yelling 'STANDARDS!??!??! WHAT STANDARDS!???!!'

And while I enjoyed the Showboat Jubilee at MK (never saw it at DL), I agree with you. It's nothing that great. It's the type of thing Disney always USED to do and not make a big deal about it.

Now, they take the snowglobes off the parade floats and steal music from Tokyo and they call it a new parade.

BTW, a debate I'd love to have is whether WDW newbie fans (i.e those who have only been visiting since say Y2K to make it simple) are less discerning/simpler folks or just don't know any better.

Ya, of course that's what WDW is! I know I have a blast in WDW, but apparently I'm having a below standard level of fun. Do you know how dumb that sounds? People return to WDW because they have a great time, and even though some parks may go above and beyond for their often grumpy fans, WDW still has quality fun and a decent standard.

And Tiana's Showboat is on par with the rest of the MK, who's quality is getting better and better over time in my opinion (and if I had to guess, a lot of others think so too).

And many people who come to WDW are from all over the world who probably have close Disney reosrts to choose from. They choose WDW- maybe that should tell you something. Maybe TDO won't pump out the big bucks for WDW, but it's still a worthwhile and quality experience that may not live up to your standards.

The Muppets come to Walt Disney World
By Leah Zanolla
Jan 6, 2010

Starting Friday, Disney's Hollywood Studios won't be the only Florida theme park where you can see the Muppets. Lately, the Muppets have been seen on commercials promoting Disney's latest celebration - Give A Day, Get a Disney Day. To bring this celebration to the parks, Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Sweetums will be featured in a "pre-parade" before the afternoon parade at the Magic Kingdom and at Disneyland. They will join dancers and floats promoting volunteering and the new promotion.
