Muppets Mini-Land / Muppets Courtyard Additions & Refurbishments

I don't think the sign is terrible but the building definitely needs some love especially with the dirty spot, just like Kman101 said. I keep wondering if they'll repaint it to match the updated Streets of America art deco look, although I keep reading that it'll just be two separate areas? :(

Makes it look like the theater could be used as a multi/use performance space. Possibly they are lining this place up to be the new spot for their movie previews? Would be really easy to swap out the banners/posters/Marquee lettering every time they wanted to show previews for an upcoming movie.

Yep, that's what I was thinking when I saw it

This is what I'm worried about. Hopefully this doesn't mean the theater will become multi purposed. I'm a little concerned that they changed the focus of the theater with the new name.

Does anyone think that the old sign is going to go back up on top of the new one? I think both can work, and there's still that big open spot left.

Which seems to have some implications of its own when you consider that they are currently doing these previews in the Walt Disney Theater at One Man's Dream. In my opinion, it seems to imply one of three things (assuming they will show movie previews in this "Grand Arts Theatre"

1) Movie previews are drawing larger crowds than the Walt Disney Theater in One's Man's Dream can accommodate justifying bumping out Muppets 3-D to show movie previews (seems unlikely)
2) Disney believes that the original film in the Walt Disney Theater in One's Man's Dream will draw bigger crowds that Muppets 3-D justifying bumping out Muppet's #-D for movie previews (when necessary) (also seems unlikely)
3) The Walt Disney Theater in One's Man's Dream (and possibly the rest of the One Man's Dream exhibit) will not be around much longer

I'm guessing that One Man's Dream could one day get the boot, and this would be next in line to be a multi-purpose theater. I sure hope not though.

It's already being turned into a mini Animation Studios knock-off ... but yep, there's that theater as well. Plenty of options.

I would have liked to have seen Animation Courtyard become Hyperion Studios, or even "Storyteller's Plaza" where they honor Walt and the classic Disney animation, basically a plussed up Animation Courtyard ... I also thought they could have switched Mermaid with what they do at Disneyland, where they have a theater that houses comedic re-tellings of Tangled and Beauty and the Beast ... SO many options but I'm digressing from the topic at hand ...

Darn, this is concerning. First they make PizzeRizzo the most minimally-themed "Muppets" restaurant that I could have imagined. Then they take away the hot air ballon. And now Muppet Vision has a generic marquee with interchangeable letters. I know there was always a good chance Muppets wouldn't be in Studios for the long haul, but it now seems like all they have to do is change a few signs and remove a few photos and any trace of the Muppets could be gone overnight.

I was at least hoping that the name "Grand Arts Theatre" had SOME sort of implication (a theater where a Disney movie premiered, a theater Henson was associated with, ANYTHING). Closest I could find was this theater/school that is in the same "Grand Avenue Cultural Corridor" as the Disney Concert Hall in LA...

Perhaps they are considering an entryway in to the Courtyard? Even the original concept art shows a simple looking arched entryway on the far left side of the picture...

Or at Least make it look like a presentable "Muppet-ized Entryway"
