I really hope they put Jim Henson's name on the new sign. I didn't know they removed his name from the sign until recently and think it's a very slimy thing to do.
I doubt it since Disney owns the Muppets and The Jim Henson Company continues to produce unrelated shows and characters.

So looking at the overhead maps it appears that Muppets area is sitting in the middle of the new SW land with the Star Tours & Jedi training on one side and the new expanded land on the other. How are they going to keep it one land with the loony Muppets & related restaurants in between the SW attractions?? Or did I miss that mention earlier?

Word about town is Star Tours won't be long for this world once Star Wars Land opens, and Jedi Training may likely have a new home in the new land.

They won't since Disney owns them...If they did It would Be Disney Present's Muppet*Vision 3D. Although in the theater the movie is called...

Yep! Constantine is gone and the Gonzos dancing with the flowerpots on their heads is back!

It's not like Disney doesn't have a history of exploiting the works of visionary men who are no longer alive while shamelessly removing their names from their products.
Let me think, do you mean THE DISNEY COMPANY? Cause it seems to me like there still is a Disney in that name.

Disney does not own the Jim Henson name, just the non Sesame Street Muppets. It is likely they do not have any rights to use his name in conjunction with the show. There is nothing 'slimy' about removing the name if the owner of the rights to the name say you cannot use it any longer.

Although in the Preshow video they still say "Jim Henson's Muppet Vision 3D" and they can't get Frank Oz back to redub the lines....

Licensing and Trademark Rights are one of the most complicated things anyone deals with when it comes to stuff like this. They likely have limited rights for the name just in the context of the actual movie created by Jim Henson but can't use it any sort of marketing and messaging or anything beyond the movie itself. I'm purely speculating on this one but it's the sort of thing that happens all the time when it comes to trademarks and licensing.

Having been involved on both sides of this kind of thing (on a way, way, way smaller scale) I can completely back this claim up.

The wording in contracts can almost seem comedic when they are really nailing down the limits (or lack thereof) to a licensing agreement, especially when they say things like "the known and as of yet unknown universe" etc.

There are some very forward thinking lawyers out there in the currently known universe, I guess.

Personally I think they are going to just move the Star Tours queue to the back of the building and have that be accessed by the new star wars land. They can then make the building facade fit the muppets theme or whatever and move Jedi training to a bigger location. I think that is why the road to the parking lot got moved and now curves out a bit. You can see what I mean here: http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...wars-land-aerial-construction-views/30398.htm

Not that I think they care too much if the pre-show is technically inaccurate, but why do you say they couldn't get frank oz back to re dub the lines??
