MSEP will stay past Nightastic

That is just sad. :(

Maybe that is one of the reasons why it is staying for a while longer.

It have something to do with it if that is true, it would be cheaper to operate. But on top of that, I think the majority of the guests really enjoy MSEP and it's popularity will warrant it to stay longer. Though I assume that the decision for it to stay longer was decided upon awhile ago.

It was suggested that MSEP wouldn't return to DCA after it's run in MK but actually go to DL. But I agree, with World of Color being more than enough nighttime entertainment ATM.

Disneyland had their "Glows Away Forever" promotion when the MSEP left the last time. I'm not sure what the reaction would be if it returned.

Great news! I haven't seen this parade since 1989 and I think it looks better than ever with the Tinkerbell float and LED lights throughout. Will be nice to finally see again after twenty-one years!

That promotion was rendered pointless as soon as they brought it back to DCA ("Main Street" absent from the name notwithstanding).

They should do the right thing and put it back in DL.

Yeah, it's been about that long for me too, maybe longer.

Sweet! Lets hope MK does a repeat of what they did to the MSEP in 2000 during the Christmas time :animwink: Which is very possible considering Tokyo Disneyland does indeed have a Christmas version of the Dreamlights soundtrack. The US parks took the original Dreamlights soundtrack so why not the Christmas version as well :D

I agree. The way the Dreamlights Christmas soundtrack is done is SO Cool and WAY less repetitive then what they did in Florida last time (ir even the opriginal TDL EP w/ it's *2* repetative Christmas loops

That's really kind of low, if our assumptions (and the OP's source) are right. Some people might book trips expecting to see Spectro based on the "official" schedule, and it sounds like Disney already knows it won't be showing. They're basically lying to their customers (again, given the above caveats).

Am confused !! I'm going to WDW in Sept, never saw SPECTRO when I went 2 years ago. SPECTRO is on the offical calender for Sept, I have set my itinary around specific events including SPECTRO so if they continue with MSEP then I presume SPECTRO won't happen? Can they do that? Which is better anyway - MSEP or SPECTRO?

Of course they can...Disney makes up their calendar so they are subject to make changes as they see fit.

MSEP is much more upbeat...and IMO is drawing much more crowds since it's been so long since it's run in WDW. I know it's summer right now, but the crowds last night around the parade route were insance. It's been a long time since I've seen the sidewalks so staked out 2 hours before the parade on a WEDNESDAY night.

I was reminded on why we used to not visit over the summer....

We love the undertakers & what they do with their shovels....

I had tickets to MNSSHP 2 years ago but had to go back to the hotel after half an hour due to sickness so never saw BOO TO YOU. Luckily my partner filmed it. The undertakers looked cool. I'm guessing sparks do fly from shovels if scrapped along the floor? It doesn't come from special fx does it? Does anyone else find the BOO TO YOU music a bit repetitive after a while?

Spectro trumps MSEP in terms of overall quality. For many kids MSEP lacks any relevance. I can't tell you the number of "Who's that"s I've heard when Pete's Dragon comes along and a lots of people can't tell that the donkeys from Pinocchio are donkeys and not horses or something. There's no Donald or Pluto at all during the parade and everyone I know that saw both during the transition said they preferred Spectro. We're all really hoping it returns in August.

No offense, but only in America would we advocate dumping a parade instead of saying, "Oh, maybe we should re-introduce kids to the classics."

Boring, repetitive soundtrack for a great parade.

I kindly disagree. I love the soundtrack. Repetitive, but very Catchy. The Pirates/Peter Pan and HM parts are fantastic along with the final song with the Kids singing. The cowboy part has catchy music too, but I could do without the Clara Cluck clu.c.k.i.n.g the whole part!

Anyway...what WDW parade doesnt have a repetitive soundtrack anyhow? All of the parades have one primary melody with each of the floats have a slight overlayed track to it.

I remember when the parade premiered, and everyone cheered as Clara came rolling down Main Street. Talk about resurrecting a random character!

IMO, the BTY soundtrack is quickly forgettable. But we can agree to disagree here on the music, because the parade is fantastic.

*Opens the soundtrack in iTunes.*

However, I have seen both parades and to me Spectro has a certain elegance to it that fits the MK so much better that MSEP does.

For Spectro I would find a spot on MSUSA over an hour in advance then hang out and watch Wishes. If the MSEP does stay behind it's run, I will be enjoying the rest of the park and staying away from the parade as much as possible.

I'm not saying anything bad about the parade itself, it just doesn't hold the same magic for me that makes me want to sit and watch more than once.

I respectfully disagree. I think MSEP fits the MK perfectly. I have seen both parades many times, and I think the kids get into MSEP more because they can dance/clap to the music. Spectro is beautiful, but the kids get bored with "beautiful" quickly!!

Awesome news! We were there for the "official" MSEP opening on June 6th (not the 5th sadly for the preview lol...wife couldnt get the night off heh)... posted two video torrents to mousebits . com if anyone cares to see the parade in HD.

I am happy that the MSEP is going to stick around...of course so many of us sorta figured that a good while back thanks to the many of you on here who leaked that info a while back... glad to see that it is inching closer to reality!

Spectro will be back... maybe not for ashort while...maybe (who knows?) not even for a few years if they are silently Imagineering a new parade.... but in the end someday it will return to visit the streets of the MK again!

IMO I think Spectro would be a great fit for DCA and mix very well with WOC. Not saying I want Spectro to leave WDW but I am just saying. If MSEP is going to be staying at WDW for awhile, then, why not send Spectro to DL or DCA instead of it just sitting in the warehouse at MK collecting dust? Besides, MSEP has made the trek back and forth, why not Spectro?

DCA is already having crowd control issues. Now imagining having no entrance area and construction walls everywhere? Plus, Spectro seems to be rightfully superglued to WDW. It should never leave.

Actually there aren't any crowd control problems at DCA -- the setup they have for WoC crowds has been running smoothly so far. Also, the construction walls that are up right now don't affect the parade route (Pixar Play Parade is still able to perform daily).

The only issue that could prevent the MSEP from returning is the location of the queue for the WoC Fastpass (blue section) - it runs along the parade route near the Pacific Wharf. Although I guess if they wanted to they could easily relocate the queue farther back to let the parade run through.

I suppose there may be those die hard Spectro fans at WDW and MSEP fans at DL that would have a huge issue with Spectro going to DCA. I still say it would be a nice fit with the DCA expansion.
