New lights/effects, floats, music. Based on a old idea.

I see a new parade.

This isn't being easy, Mike, this is being fair to them. We whine, betch, and moan for new entertainment, they finally gave in. I'm happy with it. There's value here.

One float is new! The music is from tokyo and the rest of the parade is the same. This is not new. This is as new as CDCT. And resposes like this are why the MK parade has only had cosmetic changes for years

I'm really not so sure how much of it was b/c of us complaining as they didn't have anything to announce during the "What's next" portion of the "what's new, what's next" press event. I think everything just came together at the right time. DCA really can't handle MSEP and WoC at the same time when it first starts so they took that and added on a few things and you have a summer promotion.

Seriously though, WDW has NEVER done anything like summer nightastic (basically being a seasonal promotion of sorts) in their history. The closest they come to doing anything like that is F&G, F&W or Festival of the Masters. Since all of those things are annual events, it proves my point that this is pretty much the first time WDW has ever done this sort of thing.

I wish WDW was getting Dreamlights from Tokyo for the 40th. I believe the parade has been at Tokyo now for 10 years. I can not help but wonder, given how TDL is with new parades, if they will replace Dreamlights soon with a new parade and send Dreamlights somewhere else. If that happens it probably will go to Hong Kong or Paris, Grrr.

If WDW does update Spectro I doubt it will be anything much more than what DEP got last year with a few LEDS mixed in here and there.

Don't forget this sentence.
"Apparently Walt Disney World is rather infamous amongst Anaheim Cast Members for not maintaining their attractions, equipment and facilities to Disneyland standards, and the Anaheim entertainment team is rather nervous about sending their newly refurbished floats out to Florida. But at least the plan frees up some storage space for them as the DCA float warehouse get reworked during the Cars Land construction."

Lutzism at it's most cynical.:fork:

We have his MSEP and we should keep it by any means necessary. :drevil:

While Lutz can be a great source of information I just can't stand the way he reports his take on WDW. Al should really check his notes before taking a dig at WDW. Last time I checked, Disneyland wasn't all that great at maintaining their parades. When DHS received BPB they had to refurbish a lot of the elements on the floats cause DCA just didn't take care of them. In fact, the Monsters float was know as Titanic cause it listed to one side when they first got it. That float had to be rebuilt and repaired so many times cause DCA just didn't take care of it. :fork:

You are mistaken on a few accounts. First, the music is from DCA, it's been re-mastered. Second, there are SEVERAL new floats including Tink, Snow White, I believe and some other ones that were added for DCA. The correlation to CDCTnis illusory at best...That's been the same exact parade now for 9 years, only changes in music. MSEP is going to have that, lighting upgrades, and new floats, as I've already pointed out.

Responses like this? Thanks for being condensing. That's not appreciated....and to be honest with you, wrong. The reason for that would lie with TDO, and their distaste of spending money on new venues. How that revolves around my opinion in my posts is beyond me. Which, BTW, is also a bit off. I'm a critic of TDO and what goes on in WDW. More often than not, I'm not pleased with that I see, and it, again, honestly pains me to say that. I expect a TON out of Disney. I love their product. I love their history. Finally, it seems, finally, TDO or WHOMEVER has woken up, and given us something we want. More entertainment....and it's in the return of a nostalgic old favorite that's been plussed to the point of it being totally different. (It seriously is. Look it up. Watch some of the videos. The promotional ones at least) There's no way you can call MSEP "old". On top of that, MMM, and ToT. And the hours at DAK, too, I guess. I hardly call this a bad move, or not enough. It's fine for summer. It's TDO finally doing something right for a change...bringing in exclusive, limited, and already popular entertainment for us. I think it deserves praise for once. So yes, maybe, my post does get us this. If it continues to, I'm happy. Nightastic is great.

I guess some will never be happy...I'm fine with that.

But that said, don't think that I'm head over heals in love with TDO. They still have MANY problems to correct and a lot to do in WDW. But this is a great start. Again. Being fair to them, is the best way to be reasonable and get read by them. That's what I'm banking on anyway.

The "opinion" of those cast members adds no value to the article other than to stir up Al's continuous point of view that Disneyland is far superior to it's Florida counterpoint
I hate to say this as much as I love WDW but Diseyland Park Is far superior to the Magic Kingdom.

We don't know that, and I don't suppose we ever will. As it stands, and looking at the recent management changes in WDW, I see it as a positive sign.

For once. So shoot me. I've left my Doom and Gloomer brethren bereft! :ROFLOL:

Otis Wren: And here is Fletcher Hodges to talk about the new artifact
*Otis hands microphone to Fletcher*

Fletcher Hodges: "It's the same thing."

Otis Wren: "It's new!"

Fletcher Hodges: "It's new?"

Otis Wren: "It's different!"

Fletcher Hodges "It's different?"

*Otis Turns bone upside down*

Fletcher: "It's different!"

4 new floats were added, but the Blue Fairy and the Dumbo section were taken out. Still, I wouldn't call this a "new" parade by any stretch of the imagination.

Again, it's nice for a short engagement, but MK needs new parades.
