MSEP Returns

I wonder how much work will be put back into the parade before it premieres here. After hearing so much about how it was abused by TDO, and knowing how TDA is, I expect a significant amount of work and money to be invested to revive it.
I'm sure not much work will be put in. I mean after a few months it's getting trashed so... The work should be put into Paint The Night while it's not running so it can be better when it comes back

It's pretty much a given that Fantasmic! and MSEP will be refreshed upon their return in summer and winter/spring 2017 (respectively). The question is to what extent.

MSEP has the classic stuff. PTN mostly has new stuff. The obvious solution is to combine the two. Retrofit the old MSEP floats with modern technology and incorporate them into PTN. Why trash Pete's Dragon, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan scenes? PTN needs stuff like that. It's mostly Pixar. The parade feels short anyway. I remember when I first saw it, I was waiting for something classic to show up. But, nope. Pixar, Princesses, Frozen. Yawn. Ditch those weird puppets of Tigger, Lumiere and the Genie, three characters that have absolutely nothing to do with one another and were clearly never intended for the parade.

Real sorry for you guys if this is true...
The very reliable dznycharacterinsider on Twitter is hinting at Marvel and Star Wars will be added to MSEP.

Disappointing but not surprising in the least.
The "temporary" Season of the Force in Tomorrowland, Star Wars Land, rumored Star Wars fireworks, now this. It's like a hostile takeover.

At this point I'm surprised they haven't put in a float featuring nothing but Robert Iger's smiling face

The people demand Star Wars, Frozen and Marvel funny books. There simply isn't enough representation in the theme parks, which generate the most amount of money anyway. You can never make enough money.

There's a brilliance to their using a snotty brat that murders his own family to promote the happiest place on Earth these days.

I should have known, not even MSEP is safe from the wrath of Marvel and Star Wars.

On the bright side, if they are taking the time to add floats, then most likely they ll be workin to get the parade back in tip top shape and maybe get "Main Street" back on the first float while they re at it. As someone who hasn't had the chance to see MSEP in two decades, I'll take it with the Marvel and Star Wars additions over having to fly across the country or never seeing it again.

EDIT: they just better not touch the Baroque Hoedown

I'm surprised star wars and marvel and even the muppets haven't had their own float yet. Why is it only animated stuff that gets floats?

MSEP has a long history of live action floats. Pete's Dragon, Return to Oz and Bedknobs & Broomsticks have all had floats here and at WDW. The bedknobs float (themed to the briny sea number) was redressed in SpectroMagic as the Little Mermaid float.

Obviously an Apple Dumpling Gang float should be the next addition.

Makes sense to add a Star Wars float and Marvel (or multiple Marvel) floats to the MSEP.

I would rather have wildly successful and insanely popular Disney owned characters and theme concepts from this current century on display at the big night parade than failed and hokey Disney concepts from the 1970's like Apple Dumpling Gang float, Herbie Goes Bananas float, The Black Hole float, and Donald's Disco Duck Dance Party float.

Okay, maybe the Disco Duck float could be cool.
