The jokes of Spaceballs and The Simpsons are becoming real. Mel Brooks had no idea back in the 80s that Bill Pullman's "Did I miss something? When did we get to Disneyland?" line would actually become more relevant with the passage of time. The merchandising gags in that one are pretty close to mark. Just replace the flame thrower with plastic swords and continue to anticipate the inevitable Star Wars toilet paper in the bathrooms.

Cuz I don't want the whole park to be all Starvel Wars. Same as I wouldn't want Peter Pan and Snow White to be everywhere. Everything in moderation is nice.

I don't think any of us want that! Thus far both properties (well Marvel at least) are criminally underrepresented. Certainly a float isn't sending that careening over the brink.

Star Wars has a big (albeit weak) representation with the Season of the Force. WoC is the only other thing, that's soon to leave. By the time this debuts we're down to Star Tours and Jedi Academy. So again, not really breaking the bank. I think because so many things are bubbling along on the back burner people are very freaked out, but very few actually are going to overlap when you think about it.

Mermaid is still the model citizen of questionably over-used. We aren't even close to approaching its saturation and Marvel is simply MIA.

If they ever shove Marvel or Star Wars into Small World or Storybook land Canal boats, I'll be right there complaining with you guys.

I'll give you Marvel but Star Wars is everywhere. Also I don't see how Mermaid has ever had more exposure than Star Wars currently. Mermaid never had a whole land overlayed to it.

Lol...and please don't give them any ideas. I could see the Aladdin section being removed for a Minature Tatooine on the story book land canal boats.

Mermaid never had an entire land overlayed for it but it get an entire land dedicated to it at Disney Sea. It has the same type of rides as A Bugs Land does.

...Star Wars is everywhere.

Correct. We've got the theme music pumping through the esplanade, Kylo Ren on the park maps, Star Wars-themed merchandise EVERYWHERE, Star Tours, the hideous Season of Force that has taken over pretty much all of Tomorrowland, and soon to be an huge land dedicated to Star Wars and possibly Star Wars-themed fireworks.

Isn't it great? Can't wait for the Guardians of the Galaxy overlay in DCA. That way, I can finally experience all the things I go to Disney for: Star Wars, Frozen and Marvel funny books.

Mermaid has two rides in DCA, a restaraunt, appearances in every night offering from PTN, Fantasmic, fireworks and various iterations of WoC. It appears in the stage show, Storybook land canal boats and Small world. I think Soundsational too? I'm sure Mermaid is appearing on park maps and has merch spewed everywhere as well. I imagine it's also pumped through the esplanade. I'm probably missing something.

Yes Star Wars is getting a massive land, but there is no overlap between it and Season of the force. There is also no overlap between MSEP and SotF, nor these upcoming fireworks and MSEP from the sounds of things.

It's a lot of things, but they don't overlap nor are omnipresent like Mermaid has been. Which is also one movie.
