It would not break my heart if all of the daytime parades at MK came to an end, TBH. I did like FoF, but every parade makes it virtually impossible to get to most areas in MK without taking a huge detour through NFL. Now, I would not argue if MSEP made its way back to MK-the nighttime parades don't seem to cause as much of an issue with the crowds, and the fact that MSEP had been around forever, on and off, kind of gave it a historical feel.
Im sorry? You dont have to detour around to NFL for parades.

This is one of those things that fan boards “love to hate”. Some couldn’t really tell you why it’s terrible but everyone else hates it so they will to.

Was it good though?

It served a purpose and I get that. Most don't and just hated it. I found it a waste of budget, personally. And annoying. But not everything's geared for me, either :)

Agreed, of course I’m always for replacing things with even better shows so hopefully that can happen.
But I’ve never understood how a 20 minute show that literally only happens 3 times a day can truly upset that many people.
It’s an opportunity for guests to interact with the characters in a really unique way rather than the love and shove meet and greet, and it’s a large production.

I’m a HUGE DISNEY FAN and I don’t do well with a lot of their changes. I have to say I miss the original soarin, loved horizons, and miss so many of my favorite desserts that are gone, but people are wrong with this one. I have a 8 and 5 year old that have been to Disney between 15-20 times. Some of my greatest memories are watching them dance in the street with characters, interacting with them, and having a blast. This to me, was what character interaction was REALLY ABOUT. I’ll take the loudness and excitement of doing the conga with characters any day over going into a room to meet for 1 minute in a standard meet and greet. I hope that whatever they put in will allow kids to dance and have a grest time for all of the kids and adults like this did. To me, it was very similar to the hoe down that happens with the country bears in frontier land.

The only problem is of how you can barely interact with the characters because of the very overprotective CM's. There was literally one time where I went to give Judy a hug and try to take a picture with her, then two CM's literally blocked me off and put their arms out to keep from going towards her. They told me I'm not allowed to give hugs to the characters in this parade.

The only reason I was able to get my photo is because the week before I was actually able to tell Judy she was my #1 character, and she gave me a hug because of it. The next week, it's the same Judy and she interacted with me a lot more than they're probably supposed to.

Well I don’t mean to be a mean person but they were right. This is an interactive dancing time. It wasn’t meant to give hugs or to stop and take photos. This was an INTERACTION with the characters. My children danced so much and so close to the characters it was amazing. They were so involved with them it’s honestly an amazing memoy. This was for candid pictures. It honestly was quite annoying when people tried to stop the characters from dancing to hug them and try to take still photos. Enjoy the atmosphere and take action photos!

Think of it this way. When the evil step sisters were on the carousel, were you able to stop the ride to go over to give them a hug and take a stand still picture. No, you were able to have a memory of riding he ride with them.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t mind if all the character interactions were more candid, action, natural encounters than the meet and greets where you give a hug, sign an autograph book, and take a posed picture.

Ima say this: If all of the characters in the parade already had M&G's, I don't think many would be complaining.

The problem with us not being able to interact with them, is the fact that it's the only spot you can actually see them. Say you're like me, a big Zootopia fan, and Judy and Nick are your favorite characters. You want to go have a full interaction with them and be able to take photos and give hugs. But the only place you can see them is a dance party where you can't do that. That's the problem with the "interaction".

"I'm sorry, operations manager. I just had to stop the Boo to You parade since I needed a picture with Goob. He never has a meet&greet and he's my favorite character, so I should be able to interrupt and give him a big ol' platonic hug."

That's not what I meant, dude. I meant for parades where the characters come off the floats and actually interact with the guests (MiSi… Wasn't there one other parade a while back in DHS or DAK where they came off the float to interact with guests?)

Plus Move It! Shake it! is more of a street show/party than a "Parade" and only runs in Main Street. It's inferior to how the former daytime parade Share A Dream Come True Parade handled guest interactions back when they had show stops which lasted from 2001 - 2003.
dct000005.jpg

When the parade premiered in 2001 during the start of the 100 Years Of Magic Celebration the entire parade stopped for 2 to 3 minutes to allows the characters and performers to interacted with each other.

Here's footage of the parade in 2001 where it had an extended show stop. Such as more effects on some of the floats and longer character dialogue.

Here's the parade in 2002 and 2003 where the show stop got shortened.

It used to be this way, but crowds increased and the web became a popular place for everyone to hunt down how they could get THE best vacation ever. Anything that was casual had to become planned just to keep it orderly and safe. The only unplanned encounters we can have anymore are when the characters are being escorted to and from back stage, and even those routes are being stalked by fans.

The original version of Share A Dream Come True Parade actually did that between 2001 and 2002 minus the autograph signing, picture posing, and a hug if a child was lucky back then.
