Most Over Rated Restaurant At WDW.

Definitely Le Cellier, but I would also add O'hana. I love the atmosphere at O'hana but I thought the food quality was just fare. I will add that the new Mexican restaurant is not as good as San Angel Inn. I don't have daughters but a lot of my clients that go to the Princess meal at the Castle, a lot come back disappointed by the food quality for the price paid. But I guess you are paying more for the experience. From what I have been told the food is better at Norway for the Princess meals. Does anyone else feel that way?

I must be the luckiest guy in WDW when I'm there!

I always have at least one ADR at Le Cellier every trip and I always have an excellent meal and stellar service! I'm treated like visiting royalty whenever I'm there. Maybe it's because I'm Canadian myself and advertise it well, Canadian flag on my name-tag and Canadian flag Mickey-head pin on my collar at all times.

'Ohana. The food is fine, good even, but it definitely doesn't live up to the hype. We went once several years ago and were somewhat disappointed, but decided to try it again last year. Both DH and I discussed and neither of us get why it's so popular. I especially don't understand the hype about the dessert. It was fine, but I wouldn't even call it memorable. I will take Kona over 'Ohana any day of the week for both food, service, and ambience.

Hmm...I think we have gotten away from the OP's question about "Most Over Rated" -- now folks are just logging what they like and what they don't like. I don't think, if you look at most "ratings" that Le Cellier, for example, is rated ANYWHERE as anything better than a three-star restaurant (out of 5). Its popular because you get big portions and lots of us like our plain old meat and potatoes.
My personal vote for "most overrated" is Via Napoli. It gets mostly 4 stars in the press (out of 5)...and I think if that is representational for quality of pizza in Orlando, then just don't eat pizza in Orlando -- I can get better pizza any day of the week in different price levels in Ann Arbor where I live...and I used to live in NYC and NOTHING holds a candle to real NY pizza at any street corner pizzaria...or for the more gourmet, John's on Bleaker Street...but Via Napoli is a 3-star restaurant at best.

I agree. We had a good first experience, then a HORRIBLE one. Our server was extremely unattantive, it took forever for us to get food when everyone else around us was being served, and the food was extremely disappointing. We won't be returning anytime soon.

Le Cellier - I have only ate there once but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I had high expectations because of how popular it is. Haven't been back but wouldn't have a problem giving it another try sometime. No hurry though. It did take up a lot of time and maybe that was part of the problem for me.

Le Cellier - we ate there in 2005 no wait just a walk up party of 4 and we liked it a lot. We have been back twice (2007 and 2012) since with our reservations dutifully made at 180 days and had bad experiences with the food we ordered both times. Last trip we had the lunch since it was 1 credit and out of the 4 meals only one person liked theirs. Now that it's two credits all day it's just not worth it.

Just been reading " Everything WDW " and lots of reviews of restaurants at WDW. There is a " Most over rated " chapter as well.So what restaurant at WDW do you consider to be "Over Rated" ? I know this may have been discussed before, but one just wonders.

As of the first two weeks of December, our last trip

Le Cellier $162 tab for two. Perpetually late seating, meh meal.

Artists Pointe $ 148 tab for two , the scallops over risotto were fewer and less well prepared than the appetizer at the Rose and Crowne and cost three times as much. But my hats off for the seasonal cobbler with Raspberry sorbet and the best pot of Earl Grey on property.

Mama Melrose was much better than either place (once you get past the hot mess thats the reservation podioum).

We have been lucky, all the meals we had at Le Cellier were really enjoyable, however having said that, I certainly don't think it's worthy enough to be called a Signature restaurant. Years ago, we went to Mama Melrose after reading great reviews online and it was one of the worse meals I have ever had at Disney (second to the now defunked L'Originale Alfredo di Roma restaurant). I read how much Mama Melrose's has changed, but I'm still afraid to eat there.
I ate at Mama Melrose in 2011 and it was probably one of my overall worst meals at Disney as well. The service was slow and the food was bland. Not impressed either.

50's prime time, Ohana, and mama melrose.
When we ate at 50's prime time the service was bad, they brought me the wrong entree, and the food was pretty bleh. The food at Ohana was mediocre at best and the service was not all that great either. Mama melrose was crowded, even when seated at the table, and I could get better food in central Illinois than there.

Le Cellier-DW and ate there for our anniversary a couple of years ago. It was ok. I've had better steaks at home. 1900 Park Fare- We've tried both breakfast and dinner. Both times the food was mediocre and the characters seemed rushed and not really wanting to spend anytime with each table.

I'm with you...we love the place and must be lucky as well. Can't believe how many times I have seen posts about receiving steaks three minutes after ordering. Never had a bad meal or experience.
I think there may be a NEW star in this category... Be Our Guest :).
Amazed to see a negative post about BoG! We thought the food was fair at best. The overall experience made a difference, but the food was at best so-so.

Definitely will go back to see if it improves. Also considering a return trip to Mama Melrose.

San Angel Inn and Brown Derby (assuming these are considered to be rated high) would get my vote. Do love the grapefruit cake at the derby.
