Didn't feel like quoting. Long post.

HM - First off it's not longer(i have no idea where you gathered that) and DL's HM has new effects. DL's HM area is immersive and not tucked in a funneled corner where you have a great view of the show building. It deffinitly seems longer. It's much more imersive, I went in August so they may have updated since then but DL's really paled in comparison to WDW's. Madam Leota's head doesn't float, there's no attic scene, and things that are actually on WDW's ride are a part of the queue/ exit at DL. IMHO it deffinitly is a better experience because it builds up to it on the ride.

Oh you are so wrong on many things. First off, Leota does float, did you have your eyes open? There is an attic scene. (where do you think the hat box legend came from?) The queue for DL is much larger with a bigger cemetery and creepy iron fences.

Space - Experience wise, DL wins hands down. MK's does has the better coaster, but I don't usually care on a Disney attraction. Also MK's SM is laced strongly throughout tomorrowland, but that is slowly going away.

JC - at least DL's JC animals move. Our JC was way better, again imo. The boats there were really cramped and I got a little sick from the way it moves. Ours has the temple which is a great experience. The scenes seem bigger, and the queue feels grander.

The boats are about the same size. The temple is cool but so are the piranhas. The skippers at DL seem to have a better attitude too.

TTA - DL doesn't even have a counter part....

Innoventions - DL is even challenging other parks. :ROFLOL:I don't know if your saying Innoventions is better at DL but it has a much larger space and more exhibits at Epcot. The exhibits at Epcot are almost like little tours, at DL they were just small exhibits.

Ones you didn't mention.

Splash - DL's is longer and has more than double AA in it's show scenes. Ours is more comfortable with 2 seaters, and i didnt notice more AA's.

Bench seating is just as comfortable as side by side. In the end the seating is preference based really.

Small World - this is obvious. Ours still has more to look at.

 Your joking right? Seriously. The exterior is a Mary Blair masterpiece.

Pirates - DL's is longer and the show scenes are much stronger. Besides, you don't have the cool little restaurant that watches the boats.

Indiana Jones -

Submarine - Oh wait that something MK doesn't have. Does this make up for it not having a TTA? The Seas with Nemo and Friends is just like this, only the experience is shorter which i think is better because it sort of drags on at DL.

 That's not a counterpart.

Matterhorn - Baxter may have designed the original BTMRR, but the big man himself designed this one. Besides at least Harold works.

I love both resorts, but I'm going to give credit to the parks that deserve it. I only want the best for both parks, actually resorts at that.

Honestly, don't you think you're in the minority if you aren't a Disney fan? Whether it be a Lion King fan, NBC fan, Pixar fan, Muppet fan, Star Wars fan, Indy fan, and now even a Marvel fan.... Disney has a lot of major demographics wrapped.

You aren't paying attention to what I'm saying. I'm talking about cartoons. Strictly cartoons, and how they are completely kiddy-fying the park. They feel like if you're above 5 you're irrelevant in the MK.

Oh- my bad.

I don't feel this way. There's still the classic mountains, Mansion, and PotC, JC, and all that. I know the future doesn't help support the cartoony argument, but FLand was the land in most need of the expansion IMO and FLand should be the land most tooned-out.

I sorta have a tough time arguing this though, I love Disney characters and the cartoony rides and I'm a bit biased- but I see clearly where you're coming from.

Maybe the attic scene was so 'bleh' he didn't remember it ; is it true you can see a lot of backstage on DL's? I heard all the lighting in the graveyard really took away from the 'magic'. Anyone confirm?

Same premise, different park. Our counterpart is coming in 2011.

Supposedly our yeti may be working again :sohappy: -or at least somewhat

I'm talking about cartoon characters. The whole park is becoming a cartoon. Something it shouldn't be if you want people to keep coming.

Even though you've never been there and have no idea what you're talking about?;)

Agreed no Aladdin in AL come up with something original!

I'm a sucker for cartoon characters. As long as the experience is quality work- I don't really have a problem.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. Since DCA is a mixpool of WDW attractions- I've already been on most of its roster already.

I think WESTCOT woulda been better. DCA is just a that I wouldn't pay for next to a park I'd pay hundreds to see just for a day if I could. :(

Don't thing Epcot type of park would have worked on the west coast and DCA is not as bad as it is made out to be.

Well, let's all admit, been there or not, we all know that DCA was an epic fail by Disney. Even they admit it by doing a billion dollar expansion.

But anyway, I heard that there are already survey markers up around the Fantasyland Expansion plot area.

You've never been there!!!!!!!!!!!!

:brick:

:lol::rolleyes: Quit getting worked up.

I've never been to WDS, DCA, or TDS. But I wouldn't pay to go to DCA- no way no how. Not until WoC, Cars and TLM look alright would I ever consider.

Everything about DCA is just /face palm. Most of the rides are WDW copy/pastes, so I've inadvertently experienced most of DCA's attractions. The theme of California does not interest me when I can see the REAL California hours away. Goofy, don't you see where I'm coming from? I may not have been there, but from the outside looking in I wouldn't want to go there if I had the choice.

It's kinda like how people are already judging the FYL refurb, but they haven't even moved a piece of dirt for construction yet.

Both DCA's and FLand's expansions look very promising if everything we see in the art is what we get.

If DCA's WoC is everything Steve says it will be I will be begging to go to DCA.

Yes it will be great. World of Color is looking very impressive. FYL Expansion is looking stunning as well. Can't wait.

4 attractions are clones from WDW. ToT, MuppetVision, Turtle Talk, and ITTBAB.

That's it.

Soarin' Over California was cloned in Epcot, and Toy Story Mania was built in DCA and DHS. There is quite a bit of overlap in DCA with Walt Disney World.

I enjoy DCA. To me The Aladdin Musical is[/was] worth the price of admission. Although it's only lightly themed, California Screamin' is a very solid coaster. To me DCA just didn't feel like a Disney park, it felt disjointed, kind of like Islands of Adventure - each individual area may have been immersive but I didn't really buy into the fact that I was walking around all of California.

I know. He was saying that DCA was nothing but WDW clones. The attractions I listed before were the only WDW clones that are part of DCA.

Soarin is a DCA clone, and TSMM was built at the same time.

WDW's JC has a better queue? No way, no how. DL's JC has one of the best queues around with the boat house and other great rooms.

I respectfully disagree; I believe this is a bit of an exaggeration. Both queues are pretty ho-hum, in my opinion of course. At least Florida's has a pretty amusing radio spiel audible throughout the entire queue area and amusing signs and gags, but Disneyland does have some nice props, but they certainly aren't "one of the best queues around". (And I would like to point out I have experienced both versions of the ride in both California and Florida, so I am not biased.)

Have you been in the upstairs portion of DL's queue with the boat house and stuff?

Also I think Winnie the Pooh may be better at MK. We also have rides that DL doesn't have (or no longer has) like HOP, CBJ, COP, Philarmagic.

And Disneyland has rides that WDW no longer has, or never had to begin with, like...

Matterhorn Bobsleds
Indiana Jones Adventure
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes
Sailing Ship Columbia
Alice In Wonderland
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Pinnochio's Daring Journey
Sleeping Beauty Castle Tour

Very, very few people actually buy a one day ticket to DCA, so you are among friends. The vast bulk are strolling over from Disneyland with multi-day tickets or Annual Passes. Similarly, I wouldn't ever pay to go to Animal Kingdom or DHS for the day either, but when it's included in my multi-day ticket I do tend to pop in for at least half a day.

I paid full fare to go to DisneySea for the day once, and felt very satisfied with that purchase. Further Tokyo visits have been multi-day tickets. But TDS is an exception.

I would probably also pay for a one day ticket to Epcot and be cool with it, but I'm always at WDW with a multi-day ticket so that's a moot point.
