More detailed blueprints

Just because us fans want the best of the best doesn't mean we need it.

You can't honestly tell me MK needs this huge expansion as much as HKDL/DCA.

Yes, I believe the Magic Kingdom needs significantly more than the Fland expansion.

How much more? I couldn't answer that question until it opens. I want to see the capacity effect. But I firmly believe the park needs 2 more thrill rides(1 E, 1 D) and a few more small, adventures to bring it to a level comparable to Disneyland.

Well, here's the way I see it

MK needs capacity rides to handle its crowds, BUT DCA/HKDL need theirs to get crowds.

Sure, MK could use more rides just like any other park though but so could every Disney park.

Since when does MK not compare to DL? DL may be better to many, but MK is not that far from DL.

No. MK is different. MK is supposed to be the flagship of the crown jewel of Disney's vacation market. Everyone who comes to WDW goes to MK. It's the park. And honestly, if I were them I'd be disappointed in MK. At this point it does not live up to it's reputation. Fantasyland will help, but it should be just the beginning of a grand MK revitalization.

Another thrill E-ticket will bring it up another notch, but still will not complete it. A C/D ticket addition to Tomorrowland along with one in Adventureland would.

Since it's the East Coast DL. And yea, look at the attraction lsit. DL blows MK out of the water and then some.

It's sad to admit but I do.

I blame it on TDO.. WDW got more popular thus getting more tourists, as many of us may know, tourists could really care less about what we fans want. They don't care if Space Mountain gets a new queue or new lights, they just want to ride it. Heck, if the tourists were to see a giant open air roller coaster behind Cindy's castle they could care less about it. So TDO saw this and noticed that WDW is for tourists so they just kind of let the park slowly lose its "magic" it hasn't completely but it's losing it alright... I don't know if I am making my point clear.

No, you're exactly right. I love the park, but it's lost a lot of the special feeling. It been mass market homogenized. It's basically had it's soul ripped out. It's a theme park zombie gobbling up tourists left and right.

Improvement is coming. Maintenance has been great recently. The cast is still top-notch. And this expansion will bring back a lot of little things. Things like terrific theming, things like quaint views and vistas.

But it's still turning into a kiddy-only park and that's why I think a few more thrill rides are necessary.

That's really sad to read... Hopefully after this expansion everything will change. It's become a tourist trap...

Just preparing you: This is my optimism shining through...

Since TDO built up the resort a lot in recent years (and they did a great job of it) and didn't do much to the parks maybe this expansion will kick off a decade for the park additions.

Tourist trap? How so?

I honestly think WDI/Glendale has seen the error of the way they've treated the MK, although I'd like to know how long it will be before the next addition(not replacement) will come. The park cannot go another 15 years before it gets expanded again. I'd also like to know what the next addition will be. Princess and cartoons are perfect for Fantasyland, but the rest of the park should distance themselves from them, IMHO.

I hope you're right. It'd be great. We'll see.

I do think that upgrades are on the way, I really do.

Hotels like DVC, call it a high rise all you want but it's still a beautiful hotel, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, the entire Epcot Resort area are all prime expamples of what TDO can do. Now it's almost entirely not worth it to stay off grounds- which is probably what they were hoping for.

I take it you mean the BLT, which I think is ugly an unnecessary, but I'll agree with the rest there.

Yea, they don't want people to stay off site, but now that they're on site they should reward the people.

Does TDO make most of their money off hotels/merch/or tickets?

I honestly think this too Scar, I think that change is coming. Hopefully in this new decade there will be many great changes and improvements.

I love hotels but aren't they wasting too much of the land on hotels? How 'bout some in-park expansion?

Good I hope PH doesn't get built they can so so much better then Tinkerbell land. Heres to a Hercules land!

Oh, shut up, you fairy-hater!!! :fork:  :fork:  :fork:  :fork:

Besides, they are NOT going to scrap Pixie Hollow in favor of Neverland for a number of reasons. One of them being the fact that they already have a popular attraction themed to the original Peter Pan film ("Peter Pan's Flight") and it would be WAY too costly and time-consuming to tear it out and relocate it.

They're already spending a large sum of money in relocating Dumbo the Flying Elephant, so don't ask them to overspend to the point where they'll end up in a bad financial state that could result in more cutbacks and more moaning and groaning from some of you fanboys.

Really where I see Dumbo and TLM.

Poor grammar :fork:

From what I've seen, I consider-

Cindy- seems like a pretty solid M&G- enough to consider it a show
Belle- if storytime with Belle is an attraction, then why isn't this?
BatB Restaurant- dinner and a show- why isn't this an attraction?
Pixie Hollow- M&G, playground, and light show- pretty solid
TLM- self explanatory
and Dumbo- self explanatory

Since when does Story Time count as an attraction? I've always thought of it as a M&G.

BatB Restaurant- dinner and a show- why isn't this an attraction?

Because it will require a reservation. Meaning that it's not available to everyone at every time. No way does a sit down count as a restaurant.

Pixie Hollow- M&G, playground, and light show- pretty solid

We have no idea what Pixie Hollow is gonna have.
