I hope this thread serves as some kind of a paradigm shift that makes people realize how utterly ridiculous this forum is currently, even if the 2 or 3 people are trying to tag-team post it into agreeing with their wildly slanted perception of things.

Seriously, if you go to a theme park where you're supposed to have fun and get upset by paper napkin designs, something is wrong with you. This isn't about the loss of Disney details or anything like that. It's just bizarre nitpicking that is almost frightening. I know kids that would kill to go to Disney but can't, and we have some doom and gloom loving anti-fan adults that are so obsessed with being negative they just go to the park to rip everything apart. If you are a grown man and have to spend time examining something as pointless as napkins to see if they meet or exceed your approval, you need to start reexamining things I think.

What's even more BIZARRE is this might not even be a permanent change. It's like the napkins are different one day, and there is panic and condemnation. It would be funny if some people didn't actually take this seriously. Talk about self parody.

I also liked this quote:

You are right. REAL managers DO interact with the guests and the hourly CM's.

I'm just not so sure about teenagers that pose as imagineers on fan sites.

Hilarious stuff.

As long as people are actually getting a napkin to wipe their appendages, there should be nothing rotten in Disney World.

Jimmy Thick- And some people don't even deserve that.

According to the United Nations, over one billion people go without enough food to stay healthy. Yet we're over here complaining that our mouth wipers don't have pretty little logos on them.

We're embarrassing ourselves.

You are missing the point. As Arewethereyet! pointed out the little things are an important part of the big picture.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

A person, who for their personal safety will remain nameless, recently found a plastic fork in the fork hopper at Pecos Bill that was missing one of the plastic teeth. Popular belief is that the tooth broke off in transit from the factory, but there is a growing sediment among Disney World forum readers this is another example of the term declining by degrees.

The Disney World forum readers theoriests believe the spoon may have been broken in the back by thoughtless Cast Members and put into the hopper as a way to "get even" with the people who pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to experience the Disney World offerings. Another theory is Meg Crofton herself is breaking the teeth just to spite the paying customer, or in Disney speak, "guest". We cannot confim, or deny for that matter, what is really going on here, but we will get to the bottom of it.

Jimmy Thick - Stay tuned...

Being critical is one thing, complaining about non-specific napkins, well thats another.

If I paid $ 3,500 per person and did not get any napkins to clean my fingers and face after a greasy meal, then yes, I would have a legit gripe.

If I paid $ 3,500 per person and only got a virgin white napkin to clean my fingers and face after a greasy meal, I would use it without even noticing what was on it, because quite frankly, it would not matter because I had a tool to clean my greasy fingers and face.

It would end up in the trash no matter what, if it was virgin white, or said O'Hana.

Jimmy Thick- Whats next, the decline of 2 ply toilet paper?

Well said Jimmy, everyone needs to relax a bit. Maybe it is just a supply issue?

I have a lot of matchbooks from all over WDW that I collected as I was growing up. I absolutely love them! Are they large expensive items or necessities? No but I am reminded of some of the wonderful times I had there as a child when I look at them. This small touch of magic at the parks has remained with me throughout my life. Would I have the same feelings about a generic white matchbook? Probably not.

I wouldn't stop going to WDW if they had plain napkins but I should be permitted to feel just a little bit disappointed at the prospect.

That was so stupid (and trollish) a comment I have to reply. I was relaxing around Riverside the other day and happened to be in the lobby where they've been making a lot of changes (much more open in there now, wish I would have had my camera with me) when the GM of the resort was out in the lobby talking with guests and cast members. There was an hourly CM standing close to where I was sitting when the GM approached him and started asking him what he thought about the changes, how he liked the resort, what his assignment was, etc. Disney prides themselves on being an informal, first name company internally, and there are several executives and upper managers that make it a priority to interact with guests and hourly CMs when they can. I've seen it myself and have many friends that have had such interactions.

The Disney Service Basics are simplified performance expectations that enable our Cast to do what they do best . . . deliver our legendary Guest service.
They were developed from what our Guests told us they want from our Cast . . . who agreed, took ownership of the Guest experience, and created . . .

I project a positive image and energy.
I am courteous and respectful to all
Guests, including children.
I stay in character and play the part.
I go above and beyond.

Here's what I find funny on this thread: You've got people (myself included) who are simply trying to make a little point. Not freaking out or having a nervous breakdown. Just pointing out that it's once again, something else cheap that Disney may be doing.

Then you've got people, claiming it's not a big deal, who are ripping others apart for making an issue of it, and slamming them for flipping out. The only ones I see flipping out are the ones who don't think this is a big deal.

Jimmy, you need to give up on the humor. Save it for someone who is funny.
Mr. Saget - I normally agree with your posts, but seriously, this is a Disney message board. Anything posted on here pales in comparison to real world problems. If you're that concerned about world hunger, then stop wasting your time here and go volunteer at a soup kitchen for the night.

Come on, mate. This is a Disney site. So we discuss Disney details. New toilets, new water mills, new napkins. Can we not do so without being subjected to sarcastic unpleasantries?

I do not feel bad at all for arguing - on a Disney site! - that seeing Mickey makes me happy, even if just on a napkin.

Sadly, some seriously can't. But you're exactly right. It's a Disney message board. If people discussing the napkins at WDW is insulting to you, then you probably are on the wrong message board.

I don't think that's fair! This is a FAN site... you know, where fans discuss WDW and every little detail in it! I've seen threads on toliet paper, cracked concrete, missing light bulbs, etc. The napkin thing is a very valid a topic and one that members of a WDW fan site can give opinions on. It doesn't mean we're spoiled and not thinking about the children dying in Africia. By that definition, Steve should just shut down this site... because let's face it not one of us here needs a trip to WDW to survive. We're blessed people with the ability to travel... and some of us become obsessed with our place of travel and join sites like this to discuss napkin graphics!

For what it's worth... I like the napkin design and hope it returns!

That one is STILL indefensible.
At least for most people....

I now firmly think rather than pixie dusters & doom and gloomers, you can separate all fans into two groups-those who enjoyed Mickey Mouse butter and those who never got the chance.

There must have been some additive that made us immune to whatever they're putting in the Dole Whips nowadays to keep everyone under control...
