More Changes for JII rumored on Twitter

lol not a joke I have heard two things and both are good, the more exciting is the ride system from Pooh's Honey Hut in TDL being used along side some 3D elements.

That needs a level floor through the ride. The current ride is on a track that changes elevation and is dug out into the floor. In order to install the same system they would need to completly tear out the floor of the building and start from scratch = tear down and rebuild. Not a bad idea.

Easy, just move imageworks back upstairs and expand into the area of the current imageworks :drevil:

Well that would be nice, but I wouldn't expect them to move a shop

Easily fixable. The shop is where it is because the powers that be want you to exit into a shop. I don't like that, but I get it. I imagine a ride with pre-show elements set up kind of like RnRC or ToT, where a group watches the preshow together and then exits back into a line to board the vehicles. The story is continued on the ride vehicles, and we exit onto an inclined, curving moving speedramp where we see show elements that bridge the ride and imageworks. We exit into imageworks where it belongs. The shop would move into the upper level of the pyramid, which you'd have to go through to get to the escalators back down.

Now the ride/pre-show can fill up all the room currently used for the not-up to-par imageworks and shop, the theater can remain for a new production, we get a better imageworks, the merchandising folks get a bigger store space, and everybody is happy except Dr. Nigel Channing.

Yes. When a refurb actually happens, there will be a new film.

Correct this is what I meant.

Yes I am aware of this but the whole ride needs to be gutted anyway

It does make sense that they would want to refurb everything, the ride and theater, all at once especially if they had a continuous theme. If the redo was planned for 2010 then maybe EO did push it back.

Disney probably saw this summer as a great opportunity to capitalize on the MJ mania and figured they could use EO as both transition and catalyst for a complete overhaul. And from the reports, EO entailed more than just changing the film. The laid new carpet and changed the design of the theater, they wouldn't have done all of that if HISTA was coming back in a few months.

It makes sense, but that doesn't mean it will happen.

Logistically, the ride could easily be expanded without using the theater if the Imageworks or whatever comes next were moved back upstairs or eliminated completely. And while I doubt they would lose the gift shop completely, it too could be moved up stairs or squeezed quite a bit.

While I'm not as upset as most with this attraction, I actually really liked, HISTA, a new top end dark ride would be a welcome addition.

With regards to possible 3D incorporation in the ride, am I the only one who's not interested? I really don't need a ride/attraction where I have to put specs on my head to enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I love most of the 3d movies but I don't need it everywhere.

Or they could build up to have a complete at-grade level for an LPS system.

Just an uneducated thought....

I wonder if they will abandon Figment?

WDW needs a Potter killer and it's not like when most people hear Figment they think of the purple dragon in Epcot. I'm thinking maybe it will be a popular household name IF they do go through with anything.

Potter is no threat to WDW if anyhting it brings more people to the area. Also 60% of the country can't ride the Potter attraction anyway.

ANyway JII won,t be were the attack Potter it will be in DAK or MK.

This is the chance for WDI to show that they can build fantastic, popular attractions WITHOUT the use of household name characters. The biggest problem with the parks currently is that there isn't enough park specific originality. Back when the parks were at their best, originality reigned. They need to keep this pavilion original and they need to keep it with Figment.

Potter is a threat to WDW's merchandising department though. I've honestly never seen people spending money in the theme park like I saw at WWoHP on Friday. It was remarkable. If the majority of European visitors go to IOA first and they get the first shot at their wallets, it will affect Disney. Nothing earth shatter, but they will take notice.

And the reports of people not fitting into FJ have been greatly over exaggerated, IMO. I'm 6'3" 240 and found the seating to be much roomier and more comfortable than the coasters in the park.
