DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Launch Bay / Animation building makes perfect sense.
Which is why I am afraid it's Muppets.
The LB/Animation building made the most sense for Runaway Railway too. Which of course is why they replaced TGMR instead.
Maybe the animation building has compromising photos of Iger.

Because far, far more people attend the stunt show?
Maybe they could create a new massive show in the lake behind indy showbuilding? Prob not thougg

Perhaps down the line Indy will go for a land that expands out into the parking lot.
There is a massive area behind Animation Courtyard. Perhaps they have bigger plans for that area with a larger land or two mini lands down the line and they want to keep those options open.

Still thinking and hoping for Animation Courtyard. It still leaves the Sunset expansion pad behind Sunset Ranch. It gives them more room to play with. They don't have to worry about the service road behind Muppets. If Zootopia is truely another thing coming, the Grand Ave/Muppets area could also house that with a dark ride where Muppets is now.

That's a pretty big reach.
They run the stunt show like 5 times a day, taking up I would bet max 10,000 people in a day. If half full MV3D theaters was the average over a 6 and a half hour day, it clears the stunt show in guests served.

At some point, we have to make room for new classics — rides that today’s kids can grow old with. Else we’ll have parks stuck in a 1970s/80s/90s time capsule
Except for devoted fans and casual park goers looking for a laugh and a seat in the AC, Muppetvision just isn’t a big draw, and not in the category of Haunted Mansion or Pirates as timeless classics that will endure for what feels like forever. And even those rides have gotten tweaks and updates.
Muppetvision would have lasted 34 years if it runs until 2025. That’s longer than Dinosaur, Alien Encounter, 20K Leagues Under the Sea (at MK), the Backlot Tour, Horizons, World of Motion, and and It’s Tough to be a Bug

Once GMR was removed, I feel like it was inevitable to know most areas of the park would be reimagined. I thought it was a terrible idea to remove that attraction, but alas, it happened, and the park is still changing. If the Muppets were to stay, don't they deserve a new experience that isn't an early 90s movie? I'm all for preservation, but experiences as movies don't age as well as theme park experiences. At least that's my thought. They age better to me as full experiences like GMR.
I say keep Muppets for capacity and people who can't ride the other rides, but the experience itself feels like something at a museum I don't choose to experience unless I need some AC and quiet time. I remember taking my parents to it in both DCA and Studios and both times they fell asleep and asked to do something else.

A lot of people are wanting Monsters to go into Animation Courtyard because they want to save Muppets, but while I enjoy Muppet-Vision, my reason for wanting them to go with Animation Courtyard is that the concept art that seems to point that way shows a much grander and more authentic entrance to the Monsters Inc. building, while the other one just sticks it right in the middle of the city.
All I want is to walk in those iconic doors with the eyeball handles and see Celia answering the phone. I want to walk down the hallway and see the "Scare Floor" sign with "Scare" scraped off and a haphazard "laugh" banner put in its place. I want to see Roz in her window staring guests down. And I want to walk into the loading zone and see the scare assistants' desks, and across from them, a hanging coaster load area, with the iconic doors and their lighted indicators.
I love Monsters Inc., and if they do this right it will be my favorite area at Studios. But they need to do it right.
Now, if we could just get Wall-E at EPCOT...

dhs needs more dark rides. I understand the need for creating a different environment to magic kingdom, but Disney does not do coasters well.
They do dark rides well. They do boat rides well. They do the system that Indy and dinosaurs use well. But for whatever reason they just simply can’t do coasters well.
Which is okay and why dhs needs more of their magic sauce of what Disney is actually good at doing.

Disney has done several coasters very well
It doesn’t have to be the most thrilling roller coaster in the world to be a great attraction

I think from reports, it’s pretty clear this is happening, and people getting worked up is the only possibility in which they go with the AC option.

I hope Muppets stays for all the love of it in this forum. Losing GMR sucked. I don't get to Florida much anymore, live in Hawaii now, but its not fun to lose fun stuff. If Spaceship Earth leaves, OMG, too much for me.
Wherever you live though, be sure to look at flights to Tokyo from the U.S. Tokyo Disney still has cheap flights and cheap day passes if you ever want to try it, though! They have great attractions and is a big reason I visit Tokyo more than U.S. Disney parks now and cheaper than skiing back home in Colorado! Just an option to keep open!
