When was the last.time Disney opened a land less than four years after commencement?
Cars will be 2028 to 2029. And that is likely generous.

The point still stands.it is far.too funny to call Villians land an "answer" to Monsters: Dark Universe. When there is a decade or more separation and other things on the horizon.

Technically Avatar construction began in January 2014 and opened in May 2017, so 3 years and 4 months.

Do we really think TWDC is scrambling around behind the scenes, waffling on their decisions and doing things “last minute”?

This is a big, corporate machine. By its nature it does not move fast, and it requires processes and data analysis and strategy to move projects forward.

This site seems to conflate “surprises” and seemingly poor communication into a belief that things change in the final seconds before an exec walks into the D23 stage, or a shovel strikes the dirt at a build site.

Highly unlikely. The company probably pays a lot of money to consultants to help them figure out how to make decisions faster.

Either way, this seems to pretty much confirm it’s AC. A very obvious choice imo, such a weird waste of space with SW Launch Bay when SW has an entire land to itself already.

I hope they expand upon the plan in the concept art to utilize the space even more.

Yeah, I'm not taking this as a definitive win for Muppets.

People/groups move offices all the time. It doesn't mean everyone in the whole office is getting kicked out for Monsters. It just means this guy is moving.Doubt he was told this week he was moving either. If the plan was to move this to AC then it would've been announced at D23 to avoid this backlash.

Or maybe they were shocked at the backlash from closing Muppets and have adjusted plans after the ROA/TSI negative publicity.

I was defending Corless statement. How much foot traffic do you think TSI sees from May - October? I bet it’s very little. It’s just too hot. It’s lovely in January though. Disney absolutely needs to rethink outdoor playground type attractions, or do you think it’s a coincidence that the boneyard is also going away with no equivalent replacement?

In this case both money and good park ops converge though. They’ve got an attraction that is almost unusable for large portions of the year because of the weather conditions. Replacing it with capacity that can be used year-round is not a bad thing. I get that it’s a classic, but I agree with Corless, it’s time has come.

We’ve visited TSI during different times bc my kids want to go every time. I do think Christmas time was the busiest but that’s also one of the busiest time in the parks. That’s when they run 3 boats and use both docks. But even the summers have plenty of people.

TSI is outdoors but the caves and fort and (small) mills are not. We don’t do the animal trails at AK often but I recall they’re mostly outdoors too. There are ways to make these attractions more palatable in the heat. But even now, I don’t think it’s accurate to say TSI is basically unusable.

Speaking of Muppets, Hollywood Studios hasn't felt the same to me since they took Bear and his friends out of the Playhouse Disney show.

Would it not be redundant with the assumed biomes concept for Tree?

Wouldn't putting Zootopia anywhere be redundant since they're putting it in the Tree of Life? Then again, we still have two Frozen attractions and two Little Mermaid attractions...

God imagine if that happened? Now look at what happened! Tower of terror is one of the bona-Fide icons of wdw, and will stay with or without the twilight zone. No way that happens to muppet vision, but they can change plans!

That's true for the ideal, but people running companies are just people like you and me. It's feasible you see a storm coming and panic, tell people to get the old plans out and just make it work. Most everyone in this thread must have worked in a company where decisions happen out of the blue, opposite to what was planned for months.

In any case I'm leaning towards AC just because that's what the latest concept art was depicting and it seems a lot more realistic than the other art that looks nice but "too" filled in (i.e. the AC concept has the empty spaces of a more realistic design, like it's come from a more refined design). But I might as well just put my finger in the air and guess at this point.
