I mean, do people who work in the former Animation building have specific parks functions where they need to be onsite? I'm under the impression that they don't (anyone can feel free to correct me) and they could be just as easily served by an office in another location.

If that is true, then it preposterous to not move them immediately and tear that building down to expand the guest areas of the park. DHS is already kind of cramped with not enough stuff to do and poor guest flow due to dead ends. Removing the entire old Animation Building structure (not just Launch Bay) as well as parking that doesn't need to be within park boundaries is such a no brainer for the park's needs that it is infuriating that they are even talking about removing a currently used attraction for "expansion" instead.
You’re a rational thinker.

You are presumptively not a WDW back of house CM who enjoys premium parking with cool access to DHS and the ability to just hop on a friendship boat or Skyliner to quickly grab lunch at EPCOT.

Missed a few days here due to work, but has anyone discuss that TWDC has a "10 year plan" and all we've seen is the next 5 years? Monsters may go here because it's saving the space in Animation Courtyard for the back half of the 10 years of building?

I don't think this is the end all be all of turbocharged parks for a decade.
Well, parsing out some statements were already 1-2 years into the ten year plan.

Corless also said removing TSI/Rivers of America wasn't even to the level of removing Ellen's Energy Adventure....amazing what a few media invite can buy you these days.
Either way, that’s an opinion he expressed, versus a factual statement. He’s been largely correct on factual statements based on insider information regardless of whether you agree with his opinions.

And he’s not wrong when he stated on a recent episode that the Florida climate makes TSI a not very attractive attraction for much of the year now. Climate change makes outdoor playground type attractions useless most of the year in Florida. Maybe it was tons of fun 9 months of the year in 1971, but now I know we only visit TSI during our winter trips. I’m sure we’re not the only ones. It’s just too hot to enjoy it otherwise.

In typical fashion however Disney is going to take the quickest cheapest way to do something…. Not necessary the right something
I hate to say it.

Destroying Muppets 3D is the quickest/cheapest way
Also, destroying Rivers of America, TSI, and the riverboat is also the quickest/cheapest way

And they will NOT ADD a new Muppets attraction because MONEY.

Also - we say quickest, LOL, this cr@p is AT LEAST 6 years away, LOL

Please, please, please don't make Climate change an excuse for these terrible, terrible decisions!!!!!

TWDC does not give a cr@p about Climate change!

Accurate. Quickest for them anyways is what I should have said lol

They “might” redo HoP and put muppets in there but that would mostly be to solve a problem of theirs and of course not have to make another AA for it soon

I was defending Corless statement. How much foot traffic do you think TSI sees from May - October? I bet it’s very little. It’s just too hot. It’s lovely in January though. Disney absolutely needs to rethink outdoor playground type attractions, or do you think it’s a coincidence that the boneyard is also going away with no equivalent replacement?

It’s Florida, it’s always been hot. A couple of degrees here or there doesn’t make a difference when the humidity levels are already high

I mean, this isn’t the place to talk about the difference in mean high temperatures in the 1970’s in FL versus the 2020’s, and how many super-hot days there are now versus then, so I’ll just leave it.

We agree, everything TWDC does (in their theme park business) is about MONEY!!!!

TWDC's movie business can BURN THROUGH money freely because their movie business is about MESSAGEING!!

This has been a day.

I have never seen this amount of conflicting information in regards to a location for a whole land that "already has dirt moving". Disney wouldn't lie to us about dirt already moving, right?

I guess if the wind moves the dirt I guess it's moving...

Because now, somehow again, some words are saying Animation, majority are saying Muppets, one is doing backflips and saying it's some other NEW BUILD expansion plot (WORDS OF THE DERANGED???) Because now I'm here going 'what the heck guys?' because I don't even think Disney knows where it's going!

Want my five cents? They're slipping different answers to different people, since they KNOW it'll end up appearing in the wild, and gauging reaction.

But that doesn't make sense, if they announced it with construction starting next year, why are they still deciding where to build?! Is Disney relying on people panic-buying Muppets merch to fund this?

I wish I liked the taste of alcohol because otherwise I'd be drinking.

Backtracking 100% Muppet odds but I'm hedging it at 80/20 currently in favor of Muppets being removed from Studios. I feel we're getting official word by end of the month regardless.

Well Disney was more like a park setting and had a lot more trees back in the day that helped

90 vs 95 isn’t going to feel any different with the same humidity levels

I actually don't care if they rip out muppets it's more if Star Tours and Launchbay outlast muppets that has me annoyed, that said we're getting an entire Monsters land which is a dream come true. Hollywood Studios despetley needs more lands, whether it be the Star Tours / Muppets plot or the Animation courtyard plot, it would still be increasing capacity.

This is all a muppet labs experiment to see how fast it takes to make a Disney fan have a heart attack out of stress.
