Nemesis394 said:aHAH but any system of transportation, if implemented correctly and strategically, can be efficient!
peter11435 said:Not true. I am not going to get into specifics here, but if you do a thread search you will find detailed explantions (most be invero) about the topic. The fact is that any form of transportation that relies on a track can not be efficient to serve WDW's needs.
Thrawn said:Completely and utterly wrong. I have already covered the traffic pattern problem. Please go search for posts by invero. We have had thousands of posts on the subject of monorail expansion, and we never solve anything, except for the facts that:
1) It would be extremely costly.
2) It would be inefficient for WDW's traffic flow.
3) It would have huge problems if a train was to break down.
nsxdrift_89 said:then what abot a PM, style LIM, transport. That has pods that would stop at each resort, then unify into a single train while on a LIM track. They could also connect the parks. But that would probably be too expensive wouldn't it THRAWN.
Nemesis394 said:.... any changing to the monorail system is going to be a very small one
malcolm347 said:I heard from a reliable source that it cost 7 million dollars per mile to build monorail tracks, and even more to maintain it and get new trains and w/e other costs there are....so it is unlikely they will do that, but hey, we can wish....
Nemesis394 said:ya know i was gonna contradict but damn youre right. the monorails do nothing but exactly what i said would be the problem with expanding it, add more transfers from transport to transport. but my point is that a car (not necessarily bigger in external dimension) that has a higher passenger capacity being implemented on the existing lines would help alot with the efficiency of existing lines... you have to at least admit that. because the trains can be made to the specifications of the track. like the marks that are currently in use
Thrawn said:You're right in that a bigger cab would hold more people. You're wrong in saying you can just plop one onto the current track. The track would have to change. They'd have to change all the stations. And what would it hold? Maybe 40 more people per train? Thats the same as sending another bus.
Corrus said:I never meant that Michael was some sort of founder of the first Japanese Park...
I meant that he was the one who kept forking out the money for asia, without him they would never be, where they are now... Jeez!!!
He was the one who kept pushing them in the right direction....
Nemesis394 said:ok they didnt change the tracks for the new marks as opposed to the old ones, and 40 per car? are you kidding me? way more you can fit at least 10 people into each of the seating compartments of which there are 2 in each car and there are i think 8 cars per train. thats the same as 4 busses and thats right now... take away the center row of seating in each car of the current marks and put them along the windows and there ya go... same amount of seats about and ALOT more standing room

thrawn, a deal.
respect my opinion and dont respond in a belittling tone and i wont get unbelievably furious with you. this way we can discuss subjects without the pretense of name calling... truce?
Thrawn said:Ha. Your opinion, as I said all along, was wrong. And I was right. I did not resort to name calling, as you did, and I responded, with facts, and with backup to my argument.
Truce? No. Learn how to respect the board, the members, and the way things are done here, then I might treat you with respect as I do to the other educated posters around here.
