Where would they get the new monorail? Those things are not just lying around at the local store.

Would they or could they purchase a new model like the existing Mark VI? Transport an old Disneyland Monorail? Purchase one of the new Mark VII and run it along side the older one? Build a new Mark VI?

"Train 11" - Monorail Teal - is a combination of the undamaged cars from Pink & Purple.

"Train 12" - color unannounced - will need the time consuming repairs before it can be put into service.

Disneyland monorails don't fit on the WDW beams. DL's are smaller.

Great solution that addresses multiple facets of the issue. Retiring the colors is a nice subtle tribute to the incident; reusing the undamaged parts makes financial sense; the new color helps to keep moving forward.

I approve :D (because I know they care what some guy on the internet thinks ;))

That is assuming they can be repaired. Some things just can't be repaired.

You are correct that's why I said OR buy 2 new end cars from Bombardier the original makers of these trains. BUT knowing WDW if there is anyway possible they will try to rebuild those cars. I'm sure which ever way it is handled the new train will be restored to brand-sparkling-new with a yet to be determined snazzy new stripe color which will have have every WDWMagic-teer riding on it.

It wouldn't surprise me if the cars adjacent to the ends involved (#2 on one train and #5 on the other) were also damaged and needed repairs/replacement depending on the extent of the damage. The linkages between the end cars and those adjacent cars would've been under a lot of force.

I'm sure if that were an issue it was already taken care of. Remember that the car linkages are also under a lot of pressure if the train is getting a tow.
