I've been going to Disney since 1979 and guess what it's still as enjoyable today as it was back then. You are just the type that isn't happy unless you are complaining. You like Disneyland so much again maybe you should visit a Disneyland Resort site. I define you as a troll

How often since 1979 and how old are you? Just asking...

WDW1974 might have a message you find difficult to hear, but Hes 100% on target.

Positive?

You might have missed the part about two monorails colliding due to negligence on WDW's part resulting in the death of a 22-year-old kid.

And that's why two smashed trains have been cobbled together with some new pieces to add a train to the fleet, which is falling apart.

So, yeah, I guess I am just my usual WDW-hating self.

You do know the place has never been better, right? I heard a podcaster say it, so it must be true!:drevil::king:

You forgot that at the time of the accident they were well overdue for new trains.

I'm glad they're back up to 12 trains, but that doesn't mean that the transportation system doesn't need more attention. I compare this to Enchanted Tiki Room. Sure, it's an improvement that they removed Under New Management, but the current show is only a marginal improvement.

I'm 32 years old my first visit was in 1979 and i've been at least 2 or 3 times a year since, not counting the 2.5 years I worked for Disney. I also don't feel his message is correct. Times have changed and i'm sorry but the Disney of the 80s is over and they won't be returning to those so called glory days anytime soon. I for one still find the parks just as magical today as they were then. I also don't mind a difference in opinion, I mind it when someone comes into every thread and makes a negative remark and turns it into a Disney bash. He has proven to do this time and time again. If he is that unhappy with the product then why does he continue to spend money on a product that he finds not worth the value?

Isnt this statement somewhat of a contradiction?

I think his message is that Disney in CA and Tokyo is as magical now as it was in the 80s, and that poor local management in Orlando is to blame.

It literally took longer to fix the damaged cabs than it did to design, build, and have them on the beam in the first place. Then you have the situation that caused it, and the fact that you now have two gravestone markers now whizzing around the resort.

I've been going long enough to what they are passing off isn't real Disney quality...

Because you've been going longer than anyone else here?

When Disney deserves to be praised, I praise.

When?

But understand that The Walmarted World of Disney in Orlando isn't the product that I grew to love largely and Disney gets away with it because so many simply don't know any better and go on forums like this and blather away about how things have never been better. They're wrong.

So you still go to WDW for....?

Can't handle diversity?

Diversity is one thing. Flat out Disney hatred and being constantly argumentative is another.

And if people have the right to mindlessly praise the company or swear allegiance and love FOR A BRAND, then I have the right to take shots at things I don't feel (or know) aren't right.

You "know" aren't right? Love the narcissism. And can you possibly go to WDW just once and relax and enjoy yourself? I doubt it. You seem to go there just to find every single scrap of negativity you can get your hands on and then post about it. You're a very "glass half full" kind of person aren't you? Wait, scratch that. Don't bother answering. I'm rather tired of seeing your anti-Disney rants so welcome to my ignore list. I suggest everyone else do the same.

^ Exactly!

Well said. Just add him to your ignore list. It actually makes the forum seem much lighter. Now all I see is normal debating and calm differences of opinions. Not the constant barrage of Anti-Disney sentiments that I used to see. ;)

Not old, just vintage.
So we are 2 days and 27 posts into a thread about Monorail Peach coming online. Oddly enough we have no photos of the new monorail. Just a bunch of people arguing about who is right and who is wrong. :brick:

Anyone have a pic of the new monorail? Since...you know...this thread is in "News and Rumors." :lookaroun

because he cares with a passion like a lot of us do?

There are faults with virtually every c+ attraction in each park but they are just left. It got painful seeing some of them.

The parks are still magical but the competition is coming up fast.

And no Peach yesterday.

So ... your first visit was the year of your birth. Bet you have real memories of all those diapy changes at the Tomorrowland Terrace with mom!:ROFLOL:

I also don't feel his message is correct.

What 'message'? If you feel I'm wrong about a point or points, why don't you argue them? That is the purpose of a discussion board. Not to be an echo chamber about how magical WDW is.

Times have changed and i'm sorry but the Disney of the 80s is over and they won't be returning to those so called glory days anytime soon.

So, then you'd agree that WDW provided a VASTLY higher quality product overall in the 80s (when you were a young child) than today? ... And you also think it's perfectly fine they are passing off a vastly lower quality product at a MUCH higher cost to guests now?

I just want to cut through the hyperbole and find out what your feelings really are.

I for one still find the parks just as magical today as they were then. I also don't mind a difference in opinion, I mind it when someone comes into every thread and makes a negative remark and turns it into a Disney bash. He has proven to do this time and time again.

I bash where I feel they deserve it. I feel that since they killed a CM and destroyed two monorails that two years later they shouldn't be getting credit for putting together a Frankenstein's monster monorail. If you disagree, then argue the point. Bring it ...

If he is that unhappy with the product then why does he continue to spend money on a product that he finds not worth the value?

I spend far less on WDW than I ever have. 2011 will mark only the second year since the 1980s that I won't spend one night in a WDW owned/operated resort. I have cut my WDW dining budget by probably 80% since 2008.

I go because I still enjoy the parks (mostly EPCOT and DAK) and some of the resort areas and because I still feel my AP brings me value to justify it.

But I am not mindless and will criticize where it is deserved.

If you believe WDW is being run like it should be ... following Walt's Legacy and the Disney basics ... and to exceed guests expectations then by all means say it ... I don't.

That doesn't make me a Disney Hater. Just a Disney Realist.

Soooo, we're 24 posts into a thread called "Monorail Peach Comes Online", but yet, there's not one single photo of Monorail Peach.

Was someone a tad premature in their posting

Thanks for the backup. Not quite what I was saying (I didn't get to DL until 1990 and TDR until 2010, so can't compare them to the 80s ... except in FLA ... which may have been what you meant?)

I do see far more positives at EVERY Disney resort globally (and I've been to all of them since 2009, with multiple trips to WDW, DL and HKDL) than in O-Town.

At some point, the fingers do point at the management team at WDW. They simply aren't running the resort in anyone's long-term interest except their own.

So although Peach was supposed to come out on 10-7, it turns out it has not made an appearance yet on the beams. Which goes to show how similar Peach is to either Gold/Yellow/Coral or whatever color the OP thought was Peach.

We've been down this road sooo many times before (and I've been down it since I started posting on Disney fan forums in the mid 1990s!)

People seem to think you can't love something and still have major issues with its condition or caretakers.

I don't want to paint the entire fan community with the same brush, but it gets tiresome and scary.

Fans should demand the best and complain when they get less (especially when it is passed off as true Disney quality in a smarmy package of PR filled with pixie dust and words that have no meaning whatsoever -- Dreams, Wishes and MAGIC!)

Disney's product in O-Town has been in decline on the macro level for a decade, even with some improvements on the micro level from place to place.

People have to stop taking criticism of Mickey like criticism of their family. It really makes you wonder about mental health issues (BTW, Lee and Mrs. Lee had some very entertaining stories to tell in that department after their recent visit!)

Oh, and hope you and M. had a great trip. Sorry, I missed ya!:)

While I would like to see some pics of peach, I wamt to jump in on the condition of the parks as I returned Sept. 20. There is alot of progression and excitement which keeps us coming back. Sure there are negatives, broken lighting, special effects, and poor conditions at some resorts, but there are alot of really great things going on. Main street update, star tours, parks are very clean aestheticly, new COP sign, HM qeue, and so on. But lets get back on topic here, PEACH! Where is it?
