MM+ Why we can't have nice things.

Before we start the bash-fest, can I ask a serious question?

Are MyMagic+ and MagicBands worth more for the guest experience than equivalent investment in the parks' attractions and experiences would have been? The $2 billion spent on NextGen (assume that is in the ballpark of the final figure) could have done a great deal to refresh and expand three Disney parks which are growing increasingly stale and are lacking in attraction count. Granted, people may argue (not without justification) that Disney never would have approved that level of park investment otherwise, but it remains a fair question: Is there anything Disney could have spent that $2 billion on which would have made a larger difference in the guest experience than MyMagic Plus will?

I don't intend this as a loaded question, and your opinion may well differ from mine or many posters here. From the guests' perspective, most of the features of MagicBands/MM+ could have been achieved without the MM+ program investment (pre-planning, FP+, etc.). Even tap to pay/enter with RFID could have been implemented without the full investment in MM+ related infrastructure, and potentially, so could attraction AA"s saying your name

AMEN and AMEN, of course you know the RFID technology is saving Disney a lot of money in lost soda revenue.....

And you all expect them to open up e ticket attractions every year don't you?

Or every 3-5 years and not take 3 years to do it..the FL expansion has been taking forever and yet look how quick the VGF went up less than a year.

I guess the FL expansion hasn't taken too long if I really think about the logistics of all the construction projects involved...

Plus I expect theme park profits to be spent on maintaining cleanliness and everything in good working order. WDW is aging and it shouldn't be so evident. And it should never be dirty. It bears Walt Disney's name, just out of respect for the legacy the mold and dust and cobwebs SHOULD NEVER BE VISIBLE.

Does anyone (@lentesta) know why buzz lightyear space ranger spin wait times have peaked? I just checked and the wait time was 90 minutes. Are they issuing more fastpasses? I know it was included in the fast picks.

It's been a long time since I've seen a good discussion on here

I'd love to stay and argue with you negative people...but I have several Disney quotes to do today for a few families

That's the thing. We're not arguing. We're basically trying to have a discussion on all things Disney, and it would actually be a pretty boring place if we all just sat around agreeing with each other.

However, if you going to state a dissenting opinion, or express anything really that isn't (more or less) common knowledge, you have to be prepared to support your position with evidence and examples. Don't just state something as "fact", only to change the subject when someone counters your position with a well thought-out and well supported post.

why can't you all just do one thing positive and be happy for the families that takes their kids to Disney World (many for the first time) and have the best vacation they have ever had and make memories that will last a lifetime... just like all of us when we were growing up?

Maybe we should charge them to help book a vacation like you do? Dont get me wrong, Im sure you help them plan and sort out all of the confusion of a Disney trip but you shouldnt ask others to do something positive for the same family you are making a profit from.

Just for the record, I have helped 4 families book Disney vacations this year and 2 of them were strangers I met sitting at the bar. I didnt charge any of them one cent for my help. I have inquired for quotes from Disney travel agents in the past just to see if its any better but the prices were higher than just booking online with Disney and Im sure there was profit included in there for the booking agent. So please spare us the guilt trip. And please dont take this as an attack on you. I think your a fair guy and I appreciate your opposing opinion, it makes for good conversation. Now wheres that list of WOW attractions!;)

My last post here...just trying to clear up ridiculous statements like these (among others)

I don't charge a single penny or add anything to the same price someone would get from booking themselves on disneyworld.com to help....I do it for the love of helping others plan the best Disney vacation for their families in my area. I have even given some kids a Disney gift card if it's their first visit or they are having a birthday celebration.

If you or anyone else has a problem with that or want to make addition comments you know absolutely nothing about I suggest you do me and all of us a favor and just quit posting and let others have fun and make the most out of their vacations while the rest sit here and complain about everything Disney is or is not doing

Oh and one last thing...have a magical day

I'm done with this place

Do you or do you not have an IATA number that results in a kickback from the Walt Disney Travel Company when you book the package for them?

Why did you get a travel agents license if your not charging them? It wouldnt be necessary. And calm down..

Yes I do...and I charge NOTHING $0, zip as what you or I could book a trip in disneyworld.com. What part of that don't you "experts" understand?

Since all the experts are here...I shouldn't have to explain....but Disney travel agents get ~10% of the package price

I charge nothing

I'm not arguing this with you people. This is ridiculous - I would do it even if I got nothing in return (as I did for a little while) but I need the IATA to be able to supply clients with some material they send agents to give to clients especially those who have never been before

Some of you all I'm convinced would criticize and argue with a wall

No you need the IATA so you can cash your check. They're transitioning the entire vacation experience management to an app and they're still paying out 10% to TAs -that borders on malfeasance
