Then again....
Those were 2 sympathy runs thrown in at the end. Not my fault I can't predict the generosity level of the Tigers.
The Yankees are Tiger meat after dropping 3 in a row, setting up a Detroit-Oakland clash in the ALCS. With the Twins and Yankees out, 7 out of 10 people have seen their pick to win the World Series go down the tubes in Round 1.
Standings: James and Laura were the only ones to pick a Yankee loss this early. They both picked 5 games, so no bonus, but they're the first to get points in the game.

Boy, am I glad we're not playing for money. 
BTW, it's probably obvious from the way I list the standings that I like to use real names, but I don't know everybody's. If you prefer to be called anything other than your username (or real name for that matter) just lemme know.
Looking ahead to the next round in the AL: As the only person not to pick the Yankees or Twins to win the Junior Circuit pennant, Laura is the only player who can pick up points in the ALCS, with a Tigers win.
I guess that means the rest of us should become A's fans for the week (although I'd honestly take the fun of seeing this great Cinderella story continue in Motown over the possibility of improving my standing in this game).

This is actually a minor pet peeve of mine on this forum. There are posts mentioning real names, and I have to go back and figure out by context who that must be. Annoying. I thoroughly enjoy reading your posts, Wilt Dasney, and I shouldn't be taking this mini-rant out on you.

I tend to do a lot of socializing around here in PML, but I know it's not the same for everybody. Fair enough...I'll switch over to usernames for the next update in the standings. (And with the Mets up 4-2, it may not be too long from now.)
The Mets take a high-scoring one in Chavez Ravine, 9-5, and the Dodgers are 3-and-out. The Mets sweep gives James (NemoRocks) the full point and a half, while 6 other players get a point for picking the outcome correctly.
Tomorrow, we'll see if the Cardinals can join the Mets in the NLCS, or if the Padres can force the only five game series in the first round. See ya then...

Round 1 is in the books after the Cardinals dust off the Padres in an LDS for the second straight year. Laura was the only person to shake off the Twins disaster and correctly pick the remaining 3 series in the first round, so she sits alone at the top. As she has so graciously reminded me , she's also the only person whose World Series winner is still alive.
It doesn't mean the game is over, though. There are still some things that could happen (namely, an A's-Cardinals World Series) that could shake these standings up some more as we continue. Here's how things stand now (folks in italics have no chance at gaining more points)
