I am finally getting caught up on the permits and I didn't see this posted anywhere in the thread. This might be the permit that the op is referring to:

http://or.occompt.com/recorder/eagl...02.pdf?id=DOC1007S3245.A0&parent=DOC1007S3245

It's for "MK - Fastpass Graphics Package". The addresses listed on the permit are:

1220 Monorail Way
1305 B Monorail Way
4875 Caribbean Way - Pirates of the Caribbean
4849 Caribbean Way - Magic Carpets
1460 Magic Kingdom Dr - Small World
1600 Magic Kingdom Dr - Haunted Mansion

I am not sure about the first two, but all the Fantasyland expansion addresses are on Magic Kingdom Dr. Astro Orbiter is at 1225 Monorail Way so these might be other Tomorrowland attractions.

I found these:

1205 Monorail Way - Carousel of Progress
1217 Monorail Way - Tomorrowland Rocket Stage
1220 Monorail Way -???
1225 Monorail Way - Astro Orbiter

Maybe 1220 is the TTA station?

My September trip is on my Premier Pass, but I wouldn't be surprised if for January I get a MYW base ticket as I'm going with my family. Then in Disneyland, I may go with a length of stay pass as well. I was getting the Premier Pass every year since it's been available because the value of a Disney World pass + 4 days in Disneyland made it worth it. Now, I'm less convinced that I need/want a Disney World AP, Disney is getting less money from me, and I'm still enjoying the parks at my own price.
I agree. I normally get a WDW Annual Pass, and then one year I decided to visit Disneyland. I believe this was right before they introduced the Premier Pass. The costs of the WDW annual pass and my 5-day ticket to Disneyland was about $30 more than the cost of a Premier Pass (and it was an upgrade to my existing WDW annual pass). Now, it's still cheaper than separate APs to both resorts, but with the price increases it is no longer cheaper than buying an AP and a separate multi-day admission.

They're pricing people out, maybe not entirely, but they're going to see cuts from guests, if they're giving us less for more.
A DLR AP is more expensive than a WDW AP. I enjoyed Carsland immensely (despite my disdain for the films), but it certainly wasn't worth the cost increases. That said, I enjoy DLR much more than WDW these days, and I may start splitting my time between the two resorts, which means WDW won't be getting my food, merchandise and hotel money. And since I bought my Premier Pass at DLR, they won't be getting my ticket money, either.

It's going to be tough to prevent people from double booking attractions across multiple parks in the same way the double booked dining reservations. It's why I keep saying that the only way for Fastpass+ scheduling to truly be fair is to only allow it for guests that have checked into a park that day. Doing it in advance lends itself to so many problems.
If they limit the number of advance FP+'s that can be reserved, then that shouldn't be a problem. Like say, not 3 FP+'s per park, but per day.

That is exactly Disney's strategy. That was the whole purpose of FP in the first place. To get people out of line and spending money on food and merchandise.

That was one of the original goals, though from what I remember hearing it didn't help food or merchandise sales nearly as much as they had hoped, if at all.

Because people very quickly realized that they could go experience other attractions while waiting for their FastPass Return Window. The longer Stand-By lines anticipated with the advent of FastPass Plus should help to rectify this problem. With Return Windows being enforced, guests will be less likely to temp fate and try to squeeze in an attraction if it means risking the loss of the FastPass.

No more AP is definitely better than not going at all. Nothing like getting into a Disney park for free. I've been doing that all my life. In fact I think the only time I paid for a Disneyland ticket was for Grad Nite. I'm reading a trip report on another site and the OP stated the wait time in the morning for RSR was 270 minutes.:eek:Single rider was 40 so that's not bad. I don't think I've ever used single rider at either parks but I can definitely tell you TSMM got rid of theirs, unfortunately. The good thing is TSMM doesn't get huge crowds like TSM does.

Wow 270 minutes in the morning!!?? That is crazy. I hope I get to ride if I'm there but I'm not standing that long to wait. It'd definitely have to be fastpass or singles line. Either way I can't wait and hope I get to go this year. We're running into a few hiccups but I think we'll be alright. And I agree, no AP is better then no WDW. Still, it'll be awhile. I definitely will not go anywhere near as much, and I plan on cutting as many corners as possible when and if I do go back. And TSM really doesn't get that many people anymore? IS that why they got rid of their SL?

Question....why does WDW need permits to have fastpass machines?

The "permits" filed with Orange County are not really permits...they're Notices of Commencement. They're required to be filed when any work is being done that "improves real property". The purpose is that the county has a record of work a contractor does for someone, so that if the customer fails to pay the contractor, it's easy to get a lien filed against the property and encourages the customer to pay promptly.

Reedy Creek probably doesn't require a building permit to install a Fastpass machine.

And it allows them to track improvements so they can jack the assessed valuation on the next tax bill!

Just a quick note... No matter where you buy the pass, the revenue is split between the two properties. That's why a PORTION on the ticket is taxed while some is not... Ticket media in CA is taxed, it's not in FLA. Or the other way around.

As much as I'd like to say only DL gets the revenue if you buy it there, that's not the case.

Ticket media isn't taxed in Florida? I always pay tax...

I might have had it backwards... It might be CA that doesn't tax. I can't recall. But one does and one doesn't. When I bought my Premier Pass, the amount seemed off, so I asked why, and tht was the explanation I got. That's when I asked if the ticket revenue was shared, and she said yes it was, regardless of where it was purchased.

Yes! Hopefully it's not that bad when you go. Single rider is best at the moment. I hope you guys get to go. Are you going to WDW during Halloween or Christmas this year? I know a lot of people are going for the holidays. Yeah, the lines at Disneyland and California aren't nearly as bad as those at WDW, besides maybe Indy, Splash and RSR now. I wouldn't doubt low crowds was the reason why the SR line was removed. The line moves pretty quickly anyways but I've noticed a lot of WDW vets don't like the outdoor queues at Disneyland so hopefully it won't be so bad for ya.

WDW for the holidays? I haven't been during the holidays in years, I think the last time was 2004. We used to go in early January, every year since 2008, but definitely won't be going this year or next year. Next time I'll probably be there is whenever the mine coaster opens in fantasyland and that's a maybe then as well. And that's good about less lines, I wouldn't mind standing in line for TSM over there as long as it moves. And since they have no fastpass it should move rather quickly. I too hope we get to go, but we're sorta running out of time. Either way, I will get to go soon. If not this year, then next. With us cutting out the million WDW trips we usually take a year, surely we can afford one to Disneyland.
