Sounds good to me

wannab@dis said:Biometric scanners DO NOT record images of the fingerprint. They have an algorythm that computes a numerical representation of the ridges and size of the print. Each vendor has their own algorythm so it's unlikely it could be shared between other companies, etc.
Even if the same vendor is used, each installation can use different encryption hashes for storage. In other words, the data would mean nothing without a key.

You can set thresholds for the comparisons, but I'm not sure how it equates to "size" of the print.Epcot82Guy said:Aren't they also limited to a 7 (or 10) point comparison, so you only have a small subset of the print as a whole? I do agree with the print scanner just because I have seen the confusion for guests that don't speak English. With this scanner, it will be easier to explain through demonstration.
And, for the record, I have also been agreeing with almost all your posts in this tread, wannab@dis. :lookaroun
That's what were were kind of wondering. I should have tried it with some random person behind us in line. lolAEfx said:Were you on the same package?
They aggregate them just for this reason.

Maybe DIsney is doing them more for security reasons to help identify possible terrorists possibly wanting to use Disney World as there next target and just want to update their systems with a more accurate equipment?????:lookaroun
BTW Hello to all of you, it has been awhile since I have been online. Hopefully you all have been doing well.......

Even if they switch the system in the OP... it would still be a biometric scanner. It wouldn't capture the image of the fingerprint.s25843 said:Yes, I know the current Bio's do not record your fingerprints, I was saying IF they were to switch to such a system

or how about DNA scanning? Please remove a hair sample for us to test or a drop of blood if you don't mind!!hakunamatata said:It wont be too long until they implement retinal scan technology. Then all the AP holders will have to worry about getting mugged for their eyeballs....

peter11435 said:Most times it only takes 1-2 minutes. The scanners do not cause nearly the problems some people like to say.
wannab@dis said:From what I understand, all tickets bought in a transaction are linked within their systems. The biometrics are then linked to that "group" of tickets and not an individual ticket. I'm not sure if that's the case for APs.

No point in me or anyone else telling you what to think, read the history and make reach your own conclusions. You will find the name is very misleading and probably be surprised at how antagonistic toward individual liberties they actually are.
I presonally agree with many people on this post that they are evil.
