MK Testing New Entry Scans

Umm lets see here they want to prevent people from stealing their services services that you as an honest person I would assume you paid for. Personally the only problem I have is that it is slow and thats it.

Quite frankly I've got nothing to hide so if Disney want's my biometrics or even my fingerprint they can have it. If fingerprint scanning is going to make the parks safer I say go for it. It can't be any worse than walking through the airport and seeing reservists with machine guns strapped to their backs.

Actually, I heard that it links up to the NSA database and compares information taken at WDW with a list of known terrorist groups. I just see Jack Bauer waiting for an allert to go off at WDW.....

Disclaimer....this post is actually a joke.

They look at measurements of your fingers.

I wonder what the range of error is though, I've swapped tickets with my wife and it still worked and my hand is much larger than hers.

I think it's to get into peoples heads. It's like when Wal Mart announces over the PA to have security scan zone 12, so if you're stealing you freak out and wonder if you're standing in zone 12 and drop the merchandise. My friend worked security there and said it was a joke.

If they did switch over to a fingerprint system, hopefully it will be easy for guests to use and will cause the lines to move faster than the current biometric system.

Its more to keep honest people honest, IMO. Dishonest people are going to try to find a way around any form of security.

By stealing services I mean your friend giving you HIS/HER Annual Pass.. You are now using their services in which you did not pay for... Even though I am sure this still goes on with minimal amounts of people getting caught... Unless Disney is the Government's new CIA branch...

I dont see the big deal at all.. we u se hand scanners at work to punch in and out and you are searched at airports. i dont feel its invading my privacy or anything along those lines.. if you have nothing to hide then you shouldnt really care, as long as it keeps disney a safe place and dosnt hold up lines its all welcome by me!

The ACLU is the great evil in this country...

Ah yes... by protecting my civil liberties... they are evil...... UGH!! :hammer: :hammer:

Perhaps the former USSR is a more suitable place for you to live then. Communism is great, from what I hear.

From what I understand, all tickets bought in a transaction are linked within their systems. The biometrics are then linked to that "group" of tickets and not an individual ticket. I'm not sure if that's the case for APs.

The ACLU is a huge threat to INDIVIDUAL liberties. In fact, I would place the ACLU squarely within a socialistic paradigm. Therefore, they may be closer to the former USSR than you want to think. :lookaroun

I agree with you wannab, but this is headed for trouble.
I know... maybe we should edit?

 wait... no way that I'm editing. You agreed with me. That's only one of VERY few instances. *insert fainting smiley*

Hopefully what ever they do works better than the current system. Half the time it didn't work for me and then all the people behind me were groaning because I was holding up the line. The cast members wound up just letting me go in - no questions asked...

Them taking a measurement of your finger isn't that big of a deal... you want to worry about privacy issues - just think of all the personal information that's on the room key/park pass....:veryconfu

There's no personal information on your key/pass. It contains a pointer to data within their systems.
