It has been dying steadily, fault of a modern, more "edgy" media which has lead to the corruption of youth...

It sounds fun up until the soccer, wind, and rain.Uponastar said:Sounds like fun! :lookaroun
figmentmom said:Bonny, do you have a good gynecologist? Some of the mood swings might be hormonal (although I just HATE it when doctors just assume that's the problem without doing any blood work to actually find out...) Panic attacks, though, are another story!

Pongo said:Here in Florida (at least in my school district) we read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in sixth grade as part of the ciricculum (I'm not sure if the school structures are the same on the isles, but if not, that's about 11-12 years of age). We definitely learned that CS Lewis was a Christian and that TLtWatW was some sort of allegory, but that's about as far as we were allowed to go into it legally in a public school.
Like the History Channel.Connor002 said:It has been dying steadily, fault of a modern, more "edgy" media which has lead to the corruption of youth...

figmentmom said:I am absoultely appalled by his attitude. If you don't get an appointment with another psychiatrist before then, tell your gynecologist about the bipolar disorder! My gynecologist has always been more concerned with my overall health than our GP - and I firmly believe it's because he is far more in tune with women's health issues in general! Far better-informed, as well.
I am worried about you, Bonny.

Symbolism, allegories, etc. are just crazy tactics devised by evil English teachers to make their students' lives as miserable as theirs.Pongo said:Well that's true too. But there's also the symbolism in it.

I agree. I prefer to read stories, poems, etc. for what they are, not what they could be.Connor002 said:You can also find symbolism in a lightbulb, ant, and paper clip.
