Agreed...kids scarred me for life back when I was in 4th grade. And while I've learned to deal with people being hurtful because of it...I wish I didn't have to learn that lesson like that.Poor Freddy!
I hope he can work through this.
Kids are the cruelest of creatures.
Since I'm now on my 8th consecutive year of being a high-schooler's mom I can attest that high school is always melodramatic.![]()

We only have a few here in the state, and they all have excellent academic reputations. Meredith Vierra graduated from one, and she has always said that it was the best experience for her.Yes, so true.
Betty, what are your thoughts on same-s e x high schools?
My girls went to a girls only high school, and the four of us agree that the absence of males freed the students to be more competitive academically, rather than socially. Socially, the atmosphere was much more comfortable than it might have been if boys were in the mix.
What made it worse was I was in the minority at that school (One of the few white people amongst a bunch of African Americans) and I had really frizzy hair (well...that hasn't changed  ) and I had buck teeth with a space in the middle. I didn't dress well. Basically I was a walking disaster...but I didn't realize it at the time...and it really did hurt. But I've definitely managed to over-come that hardship. It's made me who I am today.I'm sorry to hear that Nibbs.
It seems that a lot of people have school related horror stories.
Too bad it has to be that way.
Good for you that you were able to come out of that stronger and more confident! What made it worse was I was in the minority at that school (One of the few white people amongst a bunch of African Americans) and I had really frizzy hair (well...that hasn't changed  ) and I had buck teeth with a space in the middle. I would not like going to a same-s e x school.
It would just be weird for me.
Confrontation is unavoidable, and often necessary.I just hate the whole he-said-she-said thing.
I hate confrentation!
Is not!Confrontation is unavoidable, and often necessary.
And there is nothing inherently wrong with it.
Is too!Is not!![]()

I hope I can learn from my dealings. What made it worse was I was in the minority at that school (One of the few white people amongst a bunch of African Americans) and I had really frizzy hair (well...that hasn't changed  ) and I had buck teeth with a space in the middle. I realize it is unavoidable, but do not think it is necessary.Confrontation is unavoidable, and often necessary.

I'm still stuggling...It took me a long while to become confident again. Trust me
So it's better to sit back and have your rights trampled on, just to avoid conflict?I realize it is unavoidable, but do not think it is necessary.
