Agreed...kids scarred me for life back when I was in 4th grade. And while I've learned to deal with people being hurtful because of it...I wish I didn't have to learn that lesson like that.

Betty, what are your thoughts on same-s e x high schools?
My girls went to a girls only high school, and the four of us agree that the absence of males freed the students to be more competitive academically, rather than socially. Socially, the atmosphere was much more comfortable than it might have been if boys were in the mix.

We only have a few here in the state, and they all have excellent academic reputations. Meredith Vierra graduated from one, and she has always said that it was the best experience for her.

It seems that a lot of people have school related horror stories.
Too bad it has to be that way.

What made it worse was I was in the minority at that school (One of the few white people amongst a bunch of African Americans) and I had really frizzy hair (well...that hasn't changed :lol: ) and I had buck teeth with a space in the middle. I didn't dress well. Basically I was a walking disaster...but I didn't realize it at the time...and it really did hurt. But I've definitely managed to over-come that hardship. It's made me who I am today.

I was scarred starting in 2nd....
