My favorite book ever is John Irving's A Prayer for Owen Meany.
I am not a John Irving fan otherwise, but oh that book!
It deals with faith and fate and is a wonderful story!

Well we've got American Idol :p

Take THAT Mr. Canada.

So? We've got Canadian Idol... hosted by the son of a former Canadian PM... and I personally know one of last season's finalists. :lookaroun AND we always "steal" the American shows and broadcast it as our own!

"American Idol... ONLY on CTV."

TTFN

Two very interesting subjects.

Indeed.
Irving can be annoying, but he tells this story well.
I loved Owen from the first page.
The movie Simon Birch which was out a few years back, was loosely based on the book. I didn't see the movie because I thought it would probably take away from the story for me. I want to remember it as I read it.

I haven't heard of the book or the movie :lookaroun

Right.
I didn't. :p
But I remember reading reviews that stated it wasn't true enough to the book. That would ruin it for me. I think it would be a hard book to make into a movie. Maybe they shouldn't have tried.

Ooooohkay. I see what you mean.

After reading Flowers for Algernon, I really want to see the movie Charly.
