That's me too - I always assume that things will only get worse.

Isn't that awful.
It's terrible to be that way, but for people like us, there really is no other way.
Some people are natural optimists. George definitely is.
It's one of the things I admire most about him.

Some people are natural worriers, Freddy.
I envy people who are positive most of the time.
Even when things are going good, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I am one of those naturals.
I wish I could be those "postive all the time -- look at the prettiness, la la...".

Quick hello as I get ready to read some excerpts from Angela's Ashes and relate them to Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal".

So, hi

Hi, Luke.
Angela's Ashes is a most dismal book.
But I liked it.

Don't know the other book.

It's not a book. More like a pamphlet. By Swift (who also wrote Gulliver's Travels)

It's about eating babies in order to counteract the poverty in 18th century Ireland. Very funny... which is good. It's a satire.

I'm so bad, that I'm afraid to say I'm actually happy about something for fear that something bad will happen to counteract it.
I wish I could change that.
But I thing a lot goes into making people what they are.
Somethings are just too much a part of you to change.
