They did not let anyone that close but the wall was down and a new sign was up by the gift shop:

I did not arrive there until 7:30 last night and they had a CM watching the area. I did not try to get any closer but they had it blocked off on all sides.

I wonder if the CM is there to tell "the curious" that the ride isn't open yet.

Ok, on the count of 3, we all rush the ropes ;)

Actually, I did that for TT during the soft opening. After waiting for about an hour, the CM (who was exceptionally cool) announced they'd be letting us in and he'd walk us to the entrance. Well, they dropped the rope and we were off and running...

one of my friends told me that he is doing ride testing on tuesday, and i believe july 6, is when the new cast members are getting trained. but i am not positive if that is the correct date.

July 6th would be when the second wave of Cast Members would arrive, creating the entire opening team of about 100. The first wave of Cast Members, I would imagine, will be completing their training during Cast Previews. Basically, the first wave would be enough to open the attraction a few hours each day, while the full cast, which I would imagine would be trained by July 20th or so, would allow the ride to remain open all day, every day--as is the plan by August 15th. Glad to see the wall came down, though...usually when they put the planters out front, it means soft openings are getting very close (that way they can create a small opening in the planters to let guests in during the soft openings, and they can close the area again after period of the ride being open is complete). Good news:)

Gosh, Its so upsetting to me that all of this is going on in Epcot, and I am no where to be seen. LOL. Thanks for the pictures Sean. They are awesome as usual.

This is what i was talking about in the other thread. Were the trees still there blocking your path or were they gone? And the wall has been down.I was there on the 31st and it was down but cms were all over the place watching.I did see them escort a few families out of the M:S building and ask other families a couple of questions.

It seems like its a possiblility. From everything I've heard and read, I'd say about 50 / 50 chance to be safe. Still, at this point, unless you're arriving after after August 14th, you can't be sure.

Here's hoping, though! Be sure to drop back in and give us all a huge description if you get on!:)

I don't honestly see any logic in taking the wall down and paying a Cast Member to tell guests to stay away every day if the ride is not going to open soon--the wall told guests to stay away for free, and Disney is not in the position to waste money paying a CM to stand by the planters for the next 2½ months...

to answer guest questions, and assist guests needs... the cornerstone of good guest service... something which has been slipping at Disney. This is actually a good idea... having more CM's.

somehow I don't think Disney will file for bankruptcy by paying someone $6.50 an hour for 2 1/2 months
