How is Mission:Space really? I avoided it like the plague the last two times I was there. (You can also add RnRC).

Well I have only ridden orange team since it opened (including before it was split into orange and green) I have never had a problem, but almost everyone else in my family feels sick on orange team so won't ride the orange side!

Never did Orange. After 25 years, I lack the nausea gene. lol I cannot do a thing that causes it anymore. We have done green= I think it's claustrophobic, smelly, sweaty, way too close to other humans, and not entertaining at all. Not one bit. I suppose g-forces= some more thrill.... but I could never force myself to ever go back on green again, and I am way too old to ever try orange.

It's okay. If you take the Orange side, you get cabin pressure and g-forces that make it feel like your face is peeling back.

Green....not so much.

But once you've done it, you've done it. There's nothing repeatable about it. You take off, go through an asteroid field that doesn't actually exist in real life (our asteroid belt is on the OTHER side, between Mars and Jupiter), and then you land on the planet and almost crash down a ravine (which gets lampshaded in the Hoth sequence on the much more exciting Star Tours: TAC.)

But yeah, it's pretty boring.

They really need to take a page from Star Tours' playbook and have different scenarios. Mix it up a bit.

Like if you don't follow the instructions, you wind up shooting yourself into the sun. :devilish::hilarious::devilish::hilarious::devilish:

I can't read in a moving car, but I did the Orange Team. Had one hand on the barf bag the entire time. Never again. Glad I did it though.

RnRC: The launch is the fastest you go, then things really slow down. Drops are meh. Pretty anti-climatic. Space Mountain still #1.

I always go on the green side. It very mild. The screens do get quite close. I would be carefully of the restraint if you go on because they go up really slowly or very quick and bounce off the ceiling. I went on last Friday and nearly broke my nose on them. Still hurts :(

Thank goodness for the fan blowing in your face when you sit down, it's very close seating, very tight. Claustrophobia indeed.

It's like being in a REAL spacecraft, Go see the Mercury capsule at the Astronaut Hall of Fame, And I've been on the flight deck of the shuttle it's D--n small, Also the cockpit of an F-4 Phantom fitted for electronic warfare so it has much more stuff than a regular fighter.

I was considering trying Mission Space a few years ago until I saw the sample cabin at the entrance to the ride. I'm generally not claustrophobic but seeing how small the cabin was convinced me not to even attempt to try the ride.

If you like spinning rides you will love it! If you don't, them skip it all together!

I went on it back when there were no "teams" , honestly not knowing what it was except for a trip to Mars. Mind you I just had 2 lovely frozen margaritas from just down the corner in Mexico, and I had no idea it was gonna be a spinning ride!

Honestly think of it like those spinning rides where you stand against the wall, and the floor drops, but instead your are spinning in a seat with a tv screen about 5 inches from your face! Instant pukefest the moment I stepped off the ride! Thank god I made it to the trash can in time!

Never again...

I love it. :)

Some people have a hard time with it. It is a little intense. Hard to describe, because there just isn't another ride like it.

The spinning thing - if the motion of spinning does you in, you should skip it. But if it's just a visual spinning thing, ride it. The teacups throw me for a loop when I ride with people who really spin them, but I do okay on Mission Space. :)

The only way to know how you'll like it is to ride it!

If you're prone to any motion sickness, you will feel some effects. Could be headaches to nausea to full on vomitting. Basically, if you get sick spinning in circles, pass. Save for the sensation, green offers the same attraction.
