Mission: Space -- How is it really?

Scary thought:

Anyone ever noticed how the spaceship you're supposedly simulating a simulation of a simulation of a flight to Mars has a big, separating 2-stage rocket and booster setup attached to it... and there's no more of these things lying around on the Mars surface for you when you get there? Is this supposed to be a one way trip?

It is a training simulator, so you never get anywhere.

Like I said, it's a simulation of a simulation of a simulation.
Disney wanted to be absolutely clear that there is no reason for you to be excited about your thrice-removed from reality "adventure".

But seriously though, it appears as though the emphatically multicultural "X2" team are on a one-way trip.

DH grabbed a handy dandy baggy about five seconds into the ride and never put it down. I was literally fighting that G-force sensation to reach out and grab him more bags as I had been on the ride and knew it was far from over. Our kids were freaking out thinking that he was dying or something. I was trying to yell over the sound and narration to tell them that he was okay and to let my husband know approximately how much time was left. When the doors opened he literally flew out. I'm pretty sure he knocked over every elderly person, child, fast, moderate and slow walker all the way to the end of the hallway, through the play area and obligatory gift shop to get to open-air. It didn't end there. He was so sick that he could not get on a Disney transportation bus and was driven by other personnel back to our resort on property. Needless to say, it ruined the end of that day and most of the next day as well.
No Thrill ride is worth throwing the rest of your vacation into the toilet. Literally.

Great story (although not for him!)

Honestly I really enjoy the ride, I couldn't detect the spinning at all, and really bought in to the whole launch/boosters/landing sensations. It felt very realistic to me, even after the first few rides. But DW...yea, she had an experience like your DH, except that it seems like she recovered a bit quicker.

I guess if I had motion sickness issues, I wouldn't even consider riding M:S. Luckily it's not an issue for me, one of my hobbies is racing cars, so G-forces don't bother me a bit.

I have never been one to be sick or nauseous on rides, but the vertigo feeling on this one made me super ill. I threw up after. If I ever do it again, I'm gonna do the less intense version, and my fiancee can do the regular one.

The first couple of times, it's pretty cool. Immersive effects, nicely done. But it doesn't have that timeless, repeat draw IMO.

I won't be "that guy" and mention Horizons. ;)
