They spent a ton of $$$ on it hyped it up and I rarely here anyone say it's there favorite ride? Do you consider it a flop with all that being said?

Also, my wife will ride anything but rode it once and refuses to ride again!

Poor old MS! When it first opened, it had the misfortune of having a death toll. People that ignored warning signs road it with conditions that created serious health threats, some knew they had these problems and for others they were undetected problems. So there were two, maybe three people that died either while riding it or shortly after. OK, turns out there was a reason that NASA had such a rigorous physical screening before you could become an astronaut. Anyway, people with heart, respiratory and real inner ear motion sickness issues had a very unpleasant experience riding MS. The word got out very quickly that MS was a killer. Since very few people really wanted to end their vacation in a box, it was avoided. Even myself, with no history of heart or respiratory problems and at age 50 (something) had never ever experienced any motion sickness, avoided riding it.

Then one day, while sitting outside of it munching on a Emu leg, I said to myself, self what is your problem? You have never been sick on a ride... go for it. I did!

I know you are all expecting a story of projectile vomiting, etc., but, I'm afraid it didn't happen. I rode it and as it stopped the first word out of my mouth was AWESOME! (just that loud too) That was previous to the green side. Since that time I have developed a small respiratory problem, so I elect to ride the green side because the orange side launch and slingshot literally takes my breath away, but not in a good way. It is a ride that requires a complete commitment to the world of make-believe and a willing suspension of disbelief.

It is the curse of Disney making a real thrill ride. People ignored the warnings because "It is Disney. How bad could it be?" The same thing happened with AE.

Had this attraction gone up at US/IOA or Busch Gardens it would have Soarin length wait times.

....any ride that can impact equilibrium ....is one that I will stay away from ...period.

....I don't have an inner ear disorder ...never have. But I worked with someone who's in-laws worked at WDW ...so they went OFTEN with the 'family discount'. I worked with his wife too ...and she told me that the first time her husband and her father both went on MS ...they were messed-up the ENTIRE day when they got off the ride. REALLY ...messed up!! So ...that little story made me think ..."Do you want to chance losing a whole day at Epcot ...for ONE ride"?

....my answer has always been a definite ..."NO"!!

Its so weird, I've heard that before from many people but it really doesn't phase me, and i'm not in the best of shape...to me the simulation in Soarin is much more intense (realistic) and yes, I ride the more intense version...and I also know many who feel like I do

Ride the less intense version...no spinning and still a fun ride.

It rates about a 6 out of 10 for me, but my 7-year-old son counts it at his hands-down second-favorite attraction in all of WDW, right behind Splash Mountain. (He's only ever done the green version. I did orange once and it's the only attraction in my entire life that's made me queasy.)

I like it, and most people I ride with seem to enjoy it. I will say that orange seems tamer the past few years. I remember actually feeling weightless and now not so much.

I didn't like it - I have only been on it once and that was in 1998. It was unexciting and not worth the effort of waiting for it. I have no reason to try it again.

I am not a big fan. I go to Epcot often and it is the attraction that I do the least. For me the fact that it replaced Horizons does not help it much either. I honestly would probably like it better if it had been built along side Horizons, but that is my own personal issue that I need to get over.

The attraction opened in 2003.
