Mirror is gone, castle painting has started (pics)

I'm going to miss all the Castle bling. It just looks kinda plain now. I like it but I wish we could get myabe a little more color in there. What I would really love to see is fiber optics like paris has, those are amazing! I for one like the wand on SSE, I guess it's because it's all I have ever known.

I never got to see it in person but i didnt really like the golden decor, prefered i how it was supposed to look and cant wait to see it next year newly painted.

As has been previously said, take the crane to Epcot and take the bloody wand down lol

Just in case you didn't know what the 25th castle looked like it is pictured here. :dazzle:

FYI: While the crane was up yesterday morning, it had been put away and hidden from view by noon time. So, just plan on taking your castle pics in the afternoon.

Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see it in person in November. I loved the castle with all the decorations on it, but damn does it look good without.

Nice to see it back in its former glory. While I liked the gold additions, I wasn't really a fan of the mirror.

The blue paint looks very nice. Its darker and much glossier than previous refurbs. Anyone have a picture just after the last repaint for comparison? Also, those must not be shingles if they can paint them. What are they exactly?

As for the crane, I'd take the crane over scaffolding any day. Remember that when the Tokyo Cinderella Castle was repainted? Plus, you can always be sure its down before Wishes, and I don't mind them repainting during the day if it means they get it done sooner.

Anyone know the actual size of that mirror? I'm thinking it would be the only thing in your room!:p
hahah, but I live in a castle didn't you know that? ---j/k

seriously... I thought that mirror was beautiful...I wish they made a pin that would switch to all the paintings...instead of just a pin with the mirror and a single picture of one of the four castles

I have that collection of pins. I think they're a nice way to remember the mirror.

I may get drummed outta the service for this, but I want to commend Alex Wright (Imagineer who primarily designed the bling). It was, in my opinion, a tasteful addition for the celebration, rather than previous missteps like cakes and wands and such.

It's odd, but to me, the castle almost seems kind of... (gasp!) plain now.

But I'm certainly glad to see her in her stately original glory.

What a comparrison

Hey,

Its interesting most guys here complaining about the HCoE dress on Cinderella Castle in WDW, glad that its gone, but folks are sad that Sleeping Beauty Castle in DL has been stripped back to normal and lost her gems and crowns.

To be honest Disneyland's was just perfect, but I did love MK WDWs golden touch. The mirror was an act of genius to show and unite the other 4 castles from around the globe.

Its right that it didn't need to be dressed beyond the life of the celebration, but I'm kinda missin it already.

Same thing I was thinking... not that I don't like plain or that "plain" is really the appropriate word to ever describe Cinderella Castle, but anyway... I would second your praise for the Imagineer responsible. Other than distorting the forced perspective (what non-Disney dork notices this anyway?) the decor looked tasteful. :king:
