Mine Ride Construction Update

JenniferS

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
From today, in the last photo you can see the entrance for the queue into the mine train. In the first two you can see the pathway with the wooden fence posts has started being installed.

I've been back for almost a week now, and for sure I can see progress.
You know what I don't see though - a single construction worker.
Again, shouldn't this place be teeming with workers?

The 3 construction workers Disney has must be working on the other side of the ride. But these guys are pros, they built Disneyland. Of course they are now in their 80s.

Sure thing!
Was the moutain fully covered by the yellow mesh and rebar? I know your last photos showed almost all of it covered.
Also in the background of the second photo, to the right and up slightly from the yellow machine it looks like what could be the infamous" bridge is close to completed. The one in the plans that looked like a hollowed out tree but seemed to have been changed to a more simple design, or is that just some of the track?

I'm sure a million people have asked this and all, but when I go down in February, do any of you think I have a realistic chance at this being completed and maybe even catching a soft open or dress rehearsal while I'm there? I stumbled upon the dress rehearsal last year for fantasyland and was in the first handful of people to get on the voyage of the little mermaid, but that was more dumb luck than anything.

Personally, I think it is conceivable that they could be doing soft openings in Feb 2014, but I think it is more likely doing soft openings in March and opening for real by the end of that month or early April.

I have no idea about the soft opening or dress rehearsal, but i think at least you might be able to see the mountain fully completed and dressed, something i would love to see myself. Might be a huge tease, but it still might be cool to see and be able to walk up to even if its not opened yet.

I don't think soft opening in Feb is out of the question, just don't get your hopes up to high.

I don't think my hopes will be TOO high, but I'm sure I'll end up walking past that area a couple hundred times during the week though. Lol :)
And if I see any word of a soft open while I'm in a different park, the gf and kid better expect an all out sprint to the buses and over to MK! :)

Looking at the last photos they seem to go faster than thought.
If they can keep this up i can beleve they can get it closed before years end and running early March.
Love to see some photos shot over the fence at the circus side.
Maybe a shot or two from Scott perhaps??
