Mine Ride Construction Update

Will there be any aerials anymore or soon?
Not really an aerial view per se, but the elaborate "fly-by" that you get at the end of the New Fantasyland website offers at least a conceptual perspective...

I'd upload a screengrab but not sure if it's kosher or not...

Are you talking about like concept art aerials or like Scott's/Scuttle's aerials? Because I didn't mean concept aerials

I was at MVMCP Tuesday night and there were workers using a torch on the exterior still after 10pm. I was very surprised to see work going on at that hour. Sorry no pics, my hands were full of snickerdoodles and hot cocoa :)

Of course! I am anxious to see if they are laying track down yet. Plus I am anxious to get in a plane period. When I go I will try for the entire central florida theme park area. I also want to get aerials of HP2.

Yeah, some Universal stuff would be great to see the progress on the Hogwarts Express track which is hard to see from the parks.

Thanks, I enjoy getting them! :)

The pictures don't do justice as to what it's like seeing WDW from 3,000 feet. It's pretty damn awesome.

I can only imagine! I did the parasailing out on Bay Lake and that was amazing. It looks so small from up in the air and everything looks so close - a very different perspective.

I was backstage at Universal last month, not much to report on the track other than that the foundations for the supports are being put in basically following the perimeter road, and messing up traffic back there really badly.

Here a picture of that same area from the model.

Probably not a restroom, doesn't seem to be enough room for that. I have heard DVC tent, possibly a merchandise location and Fastpass distribution for Mermaid.

Yes, most likely this. There isn't any DVC in that area, from my recollection. And they just added plenty of new toilets in the BatB area and the SBC Train Station. These buildings won't be potties.

This past week they were working well into the night every time we were in the MK. They laid the crane down for parade filming, but there were still workers all over the mountain Friday and Saturday.

There will be nothing even remotely close to "presentable" by Dec 6/7, but I think they're working hard to get the exterior work done, just so they can take down walls and reduce the eyesore of construction in the middle of New FL.

Also, given that the alley between Mermaid and the Circus Tents is now the only construction entrance, you hit a dead end at Arial's Grotto and have to go back around the south side of the mine train to get to the Circus....which is annoying and creates bottlenecks.

They've started replacing all the walls around mine train with something a little more elaborately themed. There's even pictures of the dwarves interacting with elements near each section of wall. Near mad tea party they are painting roses red and by storybook circus they have a box of popcorn.

There are walls in place between storybook and mermaid so they can open it up if it gets really busy. They did this during thanksgiving.

Personally I wish they would just close mine train in and have gates across from the service gate back there they can swing open when they need to get in and out like they are doing over at the studios with transformers.

Wow....when did they start this process? Must have been last night or today, because we were in the MK until 2:00pm yesterday and they were the same blue walls that had been up the entire time. Crazy.

I was in MK last week and I think I saw a small portion of track coming out of the highest point of the scaffolding. :)
