Mine Ride Construction Update

This is why the ride will not be open next week. Yep, John, looks like that light bulb out... Gotta admire the one guy up on the bridge :)

(and no, I don't envy them having to work with a highly critical audience)

ETA: just noticed, the cottage in the background looks like the scrim is down or lower, at least, as I've not seen that much detail before on it.

It was a joke. It could be open next week, but I was just commenting on the glacial pace of progress based on the old adage of how many people it takes to replace a light bulb.

This photo is interesting. They're huddled around one of the areas of track that has been painted pale yellow. There are a number of locations along the track that have the yellow markings. I'm thinking these are areas of the track that require some attention from engineers. Perhaps they deflect too much, or not enough. Perhaps they need to be "shaved" down a bit. Perhaps the rail itself is deformed and causes vibration on the cars.

That's a lot of people to be looking at something un-important, so that's my official prediction.

Perhaps there are major flaws in the track so they are going to have to tare it all out and start over meaning the ride won't open for a couple more years so they will probably give up on it entirely and just leave it to be the rotting shell of another abandon attraction...:(

Or I could be over re-acting.... :)

LOL....yeah, probably not that bad. They did cycle a LOT of trains while we stood there last night. They seemed to run just fine, and they passed several of the yellow zones in front of us (where that photo was taken). But they are definite areas of concern, otherwise they'd be brown like the rest of the track.

Wonder if the paint is used to show exactly how the wheels are effecting the track.

I think this is what is being speculated. Would be a good way to end the ride.
Ok! but, if the scene is exterior, I mean it has a part where the cottage is open to see the scene... it will have to be covered with a glass or something, right? because rain could do really bad damage to the animatronics...

Just speculation, but maybe the back of the house will be cut away so you can see inside, or you will just see the scene through the windows and doors. This area is still one of the remaining mysteries about the Mine Ride.

Guy with red hat: "You think EVERYTHING is a hidden Mickey. Stop calling us over every friggin time you think you see another hidden Mickey."
